Hi!! I was on vacation... but I just saw your page.
You guys are doing *great* with EC!! 
Nothing wrong with taking a little break here and there. We were pretty light with it in the first four months. There were days that all we did was offer her the bowl during a couple of diaper changes. A few days from hell we didn't do anything at all. The sure catches in the early days were when she just woke up and when she'd fuss while nursing.
Anyway, the cues will become more obvious. So will his schedule. It won't feel so hit and miss.
