Well I feel better now.

I just vented an issue at someone at a furniture company I won't name.  DH and I bought furniture three years ago, we paid for the extended lifetime warranty on the furniture. It covers mechanisms, frame and cushion padding but not fabric.  Well we loved the furniture for the first year. Then the mechanism started going and it was not possible to be comfortable without a pillow or two.  We paid a lot for these pieces of furniture because we wanted something that would make nice livingroom furniture that would be okay for something in the family room when we had a house big enough for both.

Well after having them come in 3 times to fix the furniture and to be told by the repair guy that "you shouldn't really use the furniture as much as you do.  The love seat isn't supposed to be the piece you sit on all the time."  Ummm what?!?  for damn near $1500 I should be able to sit on it as much as I want.  So DH and took pictures of the problem and brought them in.  Well we were told that they would get right on it's now been two months and we haven't heard anything.  Scarlett just hurt herself on the couch.  I am sick of it and I just hate the furniture now.  So I have just called the company, left a complaint on file and am going to be hearing from someone from their Ottawa office on Friday.

If they tell me they are sending someone to repair it again I am going to lose it.  The last guy who was here told me he can't fix the sofa and love seat and that the sofa is a lost cause and he will take pictures but not even attempt a repair again.

Re: Well I feel better now.

  • That would make me furious as well.

And don't sit on the furniture?  Why have it then?

lmao...what?! Please, please tell me the name of this company so I won't ever ever buy from them! Seriously!

  • From what I understand I am the only one I know who has purchased from this company who has had problems.  I will let you know who it is if they don't follow through and replace the furniture.

  • Well, if it's Ashley, Canadel, or Sears...I feel your pain!
  • I actually have to call Ashley about my coffee table lol.  I swear I never had problem with my Ikea furniture.  It wasn't until I started to buy adult furniture that I had issues.

  • Uh oh, I hope it's not the company my BIL & SIL work for... but they don't have an Ottawa office, I don't think.
