Hiya. I remember a while back you recommend the Apple Valley Inn in NJ as a weekend getaway to someone and i bookmarked the website. I'm thinking DH and i need to get away for our anniversary weekend at the end of Sept and this could be an option. Party!!!

Can you tell me more about it? Big Smile

TIA! Hope your new job is going great!!

  • Hi there!  I <3 the Apple Valley Inn.  September is a really nice time to go up there - it's really pretty and there are usually fall activities in the area.  You can go hiking on part of the Appalachian trail that is nearby, there are a lot of local wineries so you can try out a few, and there is a cute little "downtown" in Warwick with shops and restaurants.  The inn keepers, Lauren and Leigh, are THE NICEST women ever, the breakfast is amazing and the rooms are adorable and cozy.  It is a great anniversary trip - it's what we did for our first. Anything else you want to know?

  • That's pretty darn good! Wink I think the wineries and the outlet shopping are going to be huge draws for us...

Oh, how did you get there? I know you guys have a car, but we don't. So we'd either have to rent or figure out public transportation...hm...

I was checking out B&Bs in CT, around where we went on our mini moon last year. I found a really great place, but it's not cheap and it's 2-2.5hrs away! Apple Valley is much closer and friendlier to our budget. Big Smile (especially if i'm gonna go outlet shopping!!) Party!!!

  • We drove.  It is kind of in the boonies (lots of farms and woods and stuff) so I think you would need a car.  Especially if you want to do anything once you get there!
