So I'm flying to the Cayman Islands for a week. (Sqqueealll!) I can only travel for 6 days, including travel. Which sounds better:
Flight One: Take the redeye so I can get there on Day one of my trip by 1:30pm. One stop with a 5 hour!!!!! lay over in Charlotte, NC. $30 cheaper than Flight two.
-OR-
Flight Two: Leave the morning of Day one and get there at 7:30pm. One stop. 2 hour layover in Miama, FL.
I can't decide. HELP! Day 6 is pretty much an all travel day, so I can't decide if that extra 6 hours of daylight is worth the extra 3 hour layover. Also, I like the Redeye so I can sleep better, but am skeeved out at sleeping in an actual airport. Also, I'm traveling alone, so no one to keep me company! Thankksss.
Re: Flight Options: WWYD
if those are your only options, I would go with #1.
The Charlotte airport kinda sucks, so bring a book, laptop, etc. It will be worth the layover when you get there and have the extra day.
eta - I was stuck in Charlotte for a 5 hour layover last summer due to weather delays. Not the best, but there is a bar!
Fun!
This.
This. Definitely bring a book and iPod if you don't want to talk to random crazy people at the airport.
Me too. See if that airport has a Crown Room or something similar to that you can use for that time to rest . (A lot of times they will sell a 1 day pass).
Also, if you don't want to sleep at the airport, you might be able to check into your hotel early to take a little nap. Even with a nap, you could probably start exploring and having fun by 4 p.m., which is still more time to enjoy Day One than you'd get with Flight Two.
Flight Two basically leaves you with a late dinner, maybe some bar time, and then it's off to bed.
True. I didn't think about the nap time and still having more time than the other flight.
This is why I always choose red eyes
IDK, but I'd like you to stuff me in your suitcase.
kthxbai.
I would do #2, bc I can't stand long layovers. I could get in trouble with 5 hours to kill.
But what do I know, I never go anywhere.
