For the last 5 days now I've had a pounding headache. At times it's not so bad but I can still feel it there just mildly. Today was B.A.D....I couldn't look at light and the smallest sound was killing me. My poor hampster, I removed her spinning wheel because it squeeked too much - I heard it from my bedroom!
I've read/heard that headaches are 'normal' during a pregnancy but this much/often? I took tylenol on the first day and today but if this is going to happen more often - I don't want to take pills every time that many times, KWIM?
My OB is on vacation until Monday, so I thought I ask you all...
Any help?

Re: Headaches Q?
That sounds like no fun at all. lol that you actually took the hamster's wheel out.
It sounds like you're not going to get rid of it by just waiting for it to go away. As a migraine suffer my dr has suggested I take 2 advil every 4 hours for 4 days in a row to really get rid of a migraine but I have no idea what recommendations would be for a pregnant woman. If Tylenol is safe I would think that you should take it until your headache is gone. But I'm not a dr.
Hope they get better!
I had this, ?my doctor told me no?ibuprofen?while I was pregnant but to go ahead with the tylenol until the headache went away. ?He also told me to try a cold compress lightly on my eyes and to go to bed. ?I am a migraine sufferer and I laughed at the idea of tylenol even touching it but it did and I was able to sleep it off. ?
That's all you really can do.?
I am a big believer in massage therapy, chiropractors, accupuncture to help with things like this. Do you have coverage to go to one of these practicioners?
I have been going for tri-weekly massages since being about 10 weeks pregnant. It has been a lifesaver and my Dr. is totally on board with it. He agreed that trying this vs. taking meds or other greater interventions was a good idea.
Ditto. Although what you're feeling is probably weather related, it pressure can definitely cause tension headaches to flare as well. I've been having a tough time too. Massages and chiropractic care really help me.
You're fine to keep taking the tylenol and as we chatted about before, I really find a bit of caffeine with it helps. The cool compresses help too.
Also, if you are on a computer all day, you might want to turn your brightness down or get a shield (I don't know the technical name) that goes over your monitor. It dims it a bit and makes it a lot easier on your eyes. My coworker who suffered from terrible migraines had one and found it to be a lifesaver.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
I knew that we talked about tylenol before but I wasn't sure about using it so often. I'll deffinetly take a look at the other natural remedies too (I'd rather not take the pills). Hopefully they'll go away!
Thanks,
Lisa
