Just discovered $200 we didn't know we had!

Okay, technically it would be $200 in Cit Card gift cards, due to points we earned on that credit card. And we probably spent a couple thousand to get enough points. And it's a high interest rate. Tongue Tied

But still, $200!! I want to redeem these points cuz i'm going to transfer this cc's balance to another card i have with a fraction of the APR!! If we do this in time, we might get these gift cards before heading to Buffalo over Labor Day weekend for our friend's wedding and we can spend those on food and incidentals. Or if they don't come in time, we'll have them on our anniversary trip (that we have yet to plan but i really want to go!). Outlet shopping here we come!! Party!!!

  • that's awesome! yaay to found money!  are those from the Thank You Points?   we rack those up between the credit card and my debit card, plus we always book our trips on expedia to double the points but we've never cashed in for anything.

  • Yep, the Thank You Network. Big Smile But DH and i got pretty upset when we realized that none of our travel plans booked thru Expedia counted cuz they were only flights!! Apparently you can only earn points if you book 'packages' like flight *and* hotel!! Grumble...but we were flying to NM where we stay with my parents. Boo. Angry

But yay $200!! (i'm just gonna keep saying that Wink)

  • YAY for found money! I like found money! Not that this is "found" money, 'cause I know I put it there, but I have this really big piggy bank DH and I put all of our spare change in on a daily basis and you'd be surprised how much can accumulate. Well, DH thought we had $100-$150 tops...I thought more and I was right! I went to the bank today and there was $209 in it...YIPPEE! Spending money for Disney!

I'm not really sure how the point system you are talking about works, but I get cash back on my CC as well and that's nice too. Of course you have to spend a small fortune to accumulate it, but in the end it's worth it. I just received a check in the mail the other day for $132 big ones...I was happy! hehe

  • Yay for finding money.  I found $2 the other day while doing laundry and it was like hitting the jackpot for me.
  • That is awesome!  Have fun spending it!
