My cat is in the hospital :(
I am so upset right now. Sammi's tail was hanging lifeless like this morning at 5am and I called my usual vet and his machine says he is open at 10am so I googled and found Elmherst Animal Clinic on Queens Blvd (24/7) and cabbed it to there. The vet spoke about possible amputation of the tail if it was broken but an x-ray and a shave proved that his tail was bitten by another cat (not broken). The vet also said that he was not sure if the infection spread to his spine (praying!!) so they are keeping him for the day to administer antibiotics and painkillers. I hope he pulls through.
I feel so guilty because he must have been escaping through one of the windows that doesnt close. This evening we will have to board up those windows that have any possibility of escape, until we can afford to change them (I think its just two windows). He was never an outdoor cat when we had our apartment, and its all my fault for getting a house with broken windows and stuff. I just hope he gets to come back home. He is such a good cat. One of the best I have ever had. I am broke as ever of course with all those vet bills but he is so worth it. I am just so sad.

Oh, no!!! Poor little Sammi. I hope he is doing better. You and Sammi will be in my thoughts all day. Please let us know how he is when you find out.
Thanks again ladies. I just spoke to the Vet Tech there. She said that I can come and pick him up after work. DH was supposed to drive there so we could pick him up together later, but he just found out he is working a double shift, so I am gonna have to take him on the train. I hope it doesnt rattle him too much. I will pick him up a bit after the rush hour.
