Hi Christine,
I am thinking about switching to University Doctors based on your glowing recommendations. I have a few questions though. How are they with allowing your H to be with you at all times? Do they have ultrasound machines in the office? Do they draw blood in the office? Do they have evening hours? Do the midwives go on duty for deliveries or are they separate? Sorry for so many questions! But as you can see if you read my last post, I'm sort of spastic when it comes to my doctor. Thanks so much!
Re: **christine52078**
Hi~Hopefully I can answer all your questions
My husband went with me three times over the course of my pregnancy~and they were always fine with him being in the room. It might depend on the doctor( I've always seen Dr. Salerno~he's been my ob/gyn since I was 17~I'm 31 now)~but I can't see them having a problem. All the times I've been there I saw so many women go in with their husbands/boyfriends/etc. They do not have ultrasound machines in the office that I am aware of. Whenever I had to have an ultrasound, I went over to Kennedy Hospital(which is right across from the office) so it wasn't inconvenient at all, and it also will help you get acclamated to that hospital since that is where those doctors/midwives deliver. They do draw blood in the office~there is a lab that is attached~i think its quest diagnostics~not 100% sure. They do have evening hours~you'll have to call for the days that they are there late. And I'm pretty sure the midwives do go on duty for deliveries, b/c when it got near the end and I was going weekly, dr.salerno would let me know who was oncall that evening~and there were times it was a few of the midwives. In response to your other post, I do remember when I was first pregnant, when i called to make an appt, they didn't schedule my appt until I was 9 or 10 weeks along. If you are super concerned, when you call to make an appt, tell them you have had a miscarriage before( i believe that's what you said in your other post) and that you would like to have bloodwork taken and talk to a doctor as soon as possible. They are really nice and should get you in. If you have any other questions~don't hesitate to ask~and congratulations on the bfp!!!!!!!!!!
