**YouAreMyILoveYou**

Thanks for your response to my post. Just a few questions about Rachichi, DeGiovanni, Nevins & Huggins. Do you like there practice? Do they have an u/s machine in the office? If not, where did you get your u/s? Was your H allowed in the room during your u/s? Is it hard to get an evening appointment? Thanks so much for any help you can give me!

Re: **YouAreMyILoveYou**

  • I have been seeing Dr. Huggins since I was 19. She joined up with the larger practice after I had Isabela and before I got pregnant with Olivia. I still love her, but I do not like that group at all. I will be switching OBGYNs as soon as I get around to it.

They do not have an u/s in office, I had to go to Kennedy Hosp for that. My DH was allowed in the room the whole time. They even have a flat screen tv mounted on the wall so that you can see the entire u/s without having to turn your head in a crazy posistion to see the monitor. My co-worker who uses an independant radiology place (I think it's South Jersey Radiology) is NOT allowed to have her H in until the last 5 mins of any u/s, and that was even for the big u/s. That would not be ok with me at all.

It is really easy to get an evening appt, all of mine were at 7 or 7:30, but they were forever running REALLY late. I was lucky if I was back in the room by 8:45. This was my major problem with them. I never had an issue like that when it was just Dr. Huggins. I also didn't get to see the OBs until my last 4 visits, up until then I saw the nurse practitioner. She was nice and all, but I was paying to be seen by a doctor, not a nurse.

I know that as of March of this year that practice is not delivering at Kennedy anymore, only Virtua, and because of that (and the lateness issue) I have to switch docs. I will only deliver at Kennedy, I had amazing experiences there both times, so I need a doc who delivers there. I am thinking about Dr. Salerno's group, I've heard great things about them.

    Hope that helped, GL!

  • ***butting in here***  I hope you don't mind.

I also go to Drs. Richichi, DiGiovanni, Nevins and Huggins.  I've been going there since I was 18.  Dr. DiGiovanni is my primary OB, but I really loved both Richichi and Huggins as well.  Dr. Nevins is not my cup of tea. I just had a baby 3 weeks ago via c-section.  Dr. DiGiovanni did my c-section.  I had a major complication from the surgery and required a second surgery 2 weeks later.  Dr. Huggins did my second surgery.  Dr. DiGiovanni has treated me with such compassion and care.  Dr. Huggins held my hand and comforted me before my 2nd surgery.  I was really scared and she just kept telling me that she has seen my complication many times, and it was something she could totally fix.

I absolutely love going there.  The office staff has been wonderful.  My DH was not allowed to come back for blood draws, but like pp said, there just wasn't space in the room.  I went to Virtua ATU for all my u/s and delivered at Virtua as well.  My dh spent the entire time with me at each u/s.  Virtua was awesome for my delivery.  My baby spent some time in the NICU and they really went out of their way for us to feel comfortable.

I saw an OB at every prenatal visit, with the exception of once in which I saw the nurse practitioner.  The receptionist always asked who I wanted to see when I scheduled my appts.

I usually had evening appts with a wait time of about 25-30 minutes before seeing the dr.  The wait never really struck me as longer than any other specialist office.  I had some major nerves at the beginning of my pregnancy and they sent me to get an u/s at 6 weeks just to reassure me. My first regular appt was at 9 weeks.

    I would definitely recommend them.
