Anyone do Fantasy Football?
My office is having a league this year and our "live draft" is tomorrow after work (complete with beer, pizza and wings at a bar in Philly...yum!). I am lost when it comes to who I am supposed to pick, so I was wondering if anyone had any websites I could use to help pick my team. I am pretty sure everyone is expecting me to suck, so I want to at least put together a semi decent team.
We are allowed to wear football jerseys and shirts in honor of our draft so you bet I am wearing my Giants Superbowl shirt! hehe
Re: Anyone do Fantasy Football?
My ex-b/f used to have a league through CBSsportline.com. Check that out and see what they're saying about some of the players. You also don't want to draft anyone who is has been seriously injured and may be out for a good portion or the entire season, so I'd google that and see who's out.
DH has "NFL.COM Fantasy Football 2009 Preview" magazine. It's $8.99. I saw him reference this during his draft this evening.
I play in 2 leagues - a neighborhood one for money and one with my family. I use CBSSportsline for player rankings/info. If you click on a player, you can see if they're injured, etc. My H is really into fantasy, so I usually ask him for advice. I follow football, so I kind of know who to pick and all but I'm not caught up on all the injuries.
Just make sure you're ready to set your lineup every week and keep up with your players. If someone gets injured you'll need to pick up another player, or trade. You also need to consider Bye weeks.
Obviously if you just want to have fun, you dont need to be hard core about it. But if you want to win, you'll need to consider these factors : )
