I'm so mad
I was having a great morning. I was actually well rested and happy this morning. Then one of my employees called to say "Someone just backed into your car in the lot."
I took off outside and, sure enough, in our PRIVATE parking lot (with a BIG sign in the lot that states "PRIVATE PARKING") some woman had backed her big silver SUV into my maroon SUV. Seriously? How do you not see a big maroon SUV? Plus, she was trespassing. AND she tried to leave. If B hadn't been out there and stopped her, she would have taken off.
THEN she gave me a sob story about how she was in court and how her husband is going to beat her when he finds out. My response? "If I were you I wouldn't go home to a husband who beats me and I also wouldn't park in a private parking lot." MH found that hilarious when I told him.
The damage is probably minimal. It's scratched pretty bad so I assume we'll have to have it buffed out and repainted (so around $300 or so). I took her insurance information and my insurance agent is already on the phone with her's.
Re: I'm so mad
I'm mostly angry because it's a private lot. Like I told my secretaries, if one of them had done it, I wouldn't have been as angry because they are supposed to be in the lot.
This is the third time a trespasser has hit my car. The first time, they took off one of my side view mirrors (and didn't stop). The second time they dented in a door (and didn't stop).
