Hi Ladies,
I am a RI nestie who will be traveling to NYC for the first time next month for a Yankees game. I have been warned by a few friends not to stay in the Bronx, but yet I do not want to spend a fortune on a hotel . So my thought is the Holiday in in Midtown. I am also thinking of driving, as the Holiday Inn has parking for about $25 a night (we will only be there for 1 night). Is driving in NYC really pure hell? I have driven in Boston and hate it, but would sacrifice for a nice time in NYC.
Also, has anyone been to the new Yankee Stadium? Do you know if you can still bring in food/sealed drinks? A friend of mine who lives the NYC says you used to be able to at the old stadium and is not sure about the new?
Any tips would be so super helpful for this NYC virgin! LOL.
Thanks in advance! Amanda
Re: RI Nestie needs help with NYC- Yankee Stadium
Yeah I'm a season ticket holder. You're going to love it it's beautiful. Driving is not that bad around the city but it's crazy if you're driving to the game. Parking near the stadium is pure hell. If you stay in Manhattan get a hotel close to the number 4 train. That's probably the easiest for you to get there. This is from the yankees's website "No backpacks, briefcases, attach? cases, coolers, glass or plastic bottles, cans, large purses, bags or video cameras will be permitted into the ballpark. You must leave these items in your vehicle before entering the ballpark. "
I have brought food though.
Thanks Dee. I think we are going to stay at the Clarion on Park Ave. Looks decent. We are not driving to the stadium, we are going to take the # 4. So we will be driving and getting of the highway and parking in the city.
I may just bring my small purse and some little snacks in that.
Thanks for the help!
