Christmas in November

Has anyone attended the Fairmont Jasper Park  Lodge's Christmas in November event? I'm thinking about going with DH, the in-laws, and BIL and his wife. One of the weekends falls on DH's parents' 40th anniversary. It would be pricey, but it would be a great surprise weekend away. Most people would be the type to want a weekend away, but they wouldn't go if we didn't go with them. So, here's my ton of questions for you. TIA!

1. Was it worth the$

2. Did you participate in the sessions, if so, which? What did they do in them exactly, and were they fun?

3. How were the meals? Especially the galla dinner?

4. What did the women and what did the men wear to the gala dinner?

5. Other than the sessions and the gala dinner, what else make it "Christmas" in November? Was it decorated up? I hear they offer fancy hot chocolates and cookies on arrival.

 6. Would you go again, or is it more of a one-time thing?

 7. Will our husbands be the only men there. I don't think they'd be impressed if they were.

 8. Being a fairly spread out resort, would it be difficult for someone with reduced mobility (no wheelchair but may have a cane) to get around to all of the events?

Thanks so much! I really hope to hear from someone. The www.christmasinnovember.com page didn't have a ton of info, just the basics. And I couldn't find much of a review of the event, just general ones of the venue.

Re: Christmas in November

  • I haven't heard of it, but it looks fabulous! I have been to a cooking session with the Olsens and can say that they put on a great demo (I see they are the chefs one day).

Makes me wish I was closer to Alberta!

  • I agree with Sarah, it sounds incredible! I wish I was closer as well.
  • It does look like a lot of fun, doesn't it. I guess my BIL and his wife don't want to go, they don't think it's worth the $ just for the weekend. I don't blame them. But I guess DH really wants to go (Yay! I was hoping so), so we're taking his parents as a surprise. I'll post some pictures here afterward! Can't wait to go.
