Romantic hotels around here?
DH and I are getting our FIRST night away from our kids ever, to celebrate our 6th anniversary next month (MIL is coming into town to babysit).
Can anyone recommend a nice romantic hotel in the Cincy area? Preferably with a good restaurant either in the hotel, or within walking distance.
Re: Romantic hotels around here?
That's a great idea! I hadn't thought of that, but it might seem even more special if we got a bit out of town.
is that place in florence any good that has the themed rooms? i think its called the wildwood and it has a tropical dome or something. it sounds neat but never been so i have no idea about the quality. i'd be interested to find out though.
We stayed in the Cincinnatian for our wedding night - which has The Palace restaurant in it, as well as all the other options Downtown.
The rest of the week we stayed at the West Baden Resort & Spa in Indiana - it's the sister hotel to French Lick (so you can go to the casino if you want over at French Lick but leave the ick over there when you're done). One nice restaurant at Frenck Lick, one nice restaurant at West Baden. Golf courses accessible to both. You could get a massage for two (I recommend). West Baden also has a little shopping, a bar, and an ice cream parlor/coffee parlor INSIDE the hotel as well as some gorgeous grounds to go take a walk with a glass of wine.

ew. see this is why i said i had no idea about it. gross.
Ditto this, I hear it's pretty gross.
I like the idea of Belterra (J. Ruby's there is soooo good!) or you could go to the new Hollywood Casino.
The Hilton downtown is nice, so is the brunch on Sundays.
Have fun
The Cincinnatian has a weekend package that gives you a one-night stay and a gift certificate for dinner in the Palace Restaurant. DH & I spent the night there for his birthday after we got married, we had an awesome dinner and while we were at dinner I had the concierge bring up some chocolate covered strawberries and a half bottle of champagne--the staff even made him a birthday card :-)
It was really awesome, we danced to the music from the bar on our balcony.
We stayed at Six Acres B&B (north of Cincy) once, and it was wonderful! They cook a big delicious breakfast for you in the morning. There's no restuarant around though. We were took our own food and used their amazing kitchen to cook together. It has beautiful grounds and an outdoor hot tub as well. It's a great place if you just want to get away and relax the two of you...but if you're looking for entertainment it might not be the right pick. We loved it though.
Have fun!!
