Anniversary dinner help

Help!  We're celebrating our second anniversary this weekend.  We decided no gifts, but we would budget $100 for a night out (dinner & movie).  I had a nice upscale chain in Dayton picked out.  Turns out DH's exterminating company services this place and the tech who does the place said no way would he take his wife there for a celebration.  UGH!  So now I have to figure out a new place.  DH will not go to a French restaurant, so the two in Dayton are out.  I say to to the Pine Club, but I guess another steak place would be ok.  The Melting Pot sounds fun but it would blow our entire budget and more once we paid tax & tip.  Any suggestions?  I'd like to stay in Dayton but I guess we can drive 30 or so miles in any direction (like to Mason or West Chester or way north of Dayton).  I was thinking of a place that charges in the $20s for dinner entrees.  I swear, dh has ruined at least 4 places in Dayton for me and a few in Cincy since I met him!

Re: Anniversary dinner help

  • There are two nice places in Troy if you are willing to travel that far:

    La Piazza

    The Caroline

I love The Caroline, and I believe that they prefer reservations.

I'll keep thinking about places in the Dayton area and let you know what I come up with! Congrats on your anniversary!

  • I love Thai Nine and my mom really likes Pacchia.
  • I don't know any places in Dayton, but I heart Jags!!

  • Now I'm thinking Brio.  I swear, he needs to not tell me about all the nasty places he sees while working!

  • How about Coco's on Wayne?
  • If you go Friday you can do Fondue and a Flick at Melting Pot. We did that for our anniversary last year. It's a great deal.

In West Chester there's Bonefish Grill or Mesh. I loved Coco's for lunch when I worked in Dayton, but never did dinner there,

I understand, DH often responds to alarm drops at restaurants and there are several places we can't eat now, plus the places with employees he's arrested. Stick out tongue
