Carseat question

So I am now wondering if I really need a Britax. After Kat's (it was Kat right?) rave review of Evenflo I am thinking of getting one of those. I saw one I really liked at Target and they are $100 less than Britax.

So...what is a good website to review the safety ratings of these seats?

Re: Carseat question

  • Have you checked out consumerreports.com?

Someone told me that the Evenflo has the same safety rating as the Marathon, and it was quite a bit cheaper.  The main reason we went with the Marathon for my car was because it goes up to 60 pounds, the Evenflow only goes up to 50.   I also got a really good deal on the Marathon...it was about $30 more than the Evenflo...if it was regular price, we'd probably have just gotten 2 Evenflo's.

Does my rambling make any sense?  :-)~

  • Yes. It makes perfect sense. That's good to know! Thank you.
  • Oh. And I didn't go to consumerreports.com because I thought you had to be a member to see their ratings.
  • Thank you. I will definitely use that too. But it doesn't have any safety ratings. Just ease of use. But that is important too.

A very wonderful friend of mine is a member of consumer reports and she emailed me the info. I think I am going to go with Evenflo. It has excellect ratings on there. Better than Britax actually.

lol! I really didn't notice that!?

  • I was in Target yesterday and happened to see the Baby Bargains book so I looked in it to check out the car seat ratings (I never bought the book).  It rated the Evenflo(thanks for the review Kat) and something called First Years True Fit very well.  I am going to look into both.

Whatever...you didn't spend the money either. lol

  • we have both and either way you can't go wrong. But if your main reason for the britax is the weight limit, isabel started to complain about being uncomfortable way before she hit the weight and height limit.
