Fraud!!!

Somebody just charged up bunch of stuff to my cc, and fortunately the cc co caught it, and emailed me.  Ahhhh!!! I am so p!#$%^ off right now!!! I am just glad they caught it just in time before they charged up more.  It could have been a complete coincidence, but this morning I have made a purchase on Babies R Us.  Unfortunately, the coupon I was using did not work on line, so I called their 800 #.  I put in the order w/o a problem, but then after that, that's when all the fraudulent transaction happened- all but two were from Babies R Us.  Just be careful when you put in an order at Babies R Us through their 800#.  I just don't trust them anymore.  I am so furious right now.  I have been a victim of fraud before, and it is not fun.

Re: Fraud!!!

  • oh that's sucks, big time!
  • uUgggh that's awful!!! Glad your cc co caught it so fast.
  • Yes, I like this cc.  They know how and where I spend my money, so when they started seeing $500 purchases with in a few mins from each other, they were alerted right away.  I just gotta go through the whole mess of filing out paperwork again, and since they closed my cc, I can't even use it.  I was actually going to use it when we go OOT in a few days.  It could have been worse, so I am thankful they caught it immediately.
  • This is exactly why my husband is so cautious of giving his info to anybody on the phone. I always call him paranoid. I hate when he's proven right.

So sorry that this happened. What a hassel. Just out of curiosity...what's the cc company that caught it?

  • Oh I'm so sorry! At least the CC caught it- but I've been there done that- and the whole process is no fun :( Sorry!!!

It is surprisingly B of A.  This is actually the 2nd time they informed me of suspicious activities on my acct. The 1st time, it was me who used the card, but I have never used it at that store before, so they got suspicious.  This time, I don't know what gave them the red flag, but they somehow knew. They know where I shop and what I buy.  I have been with them for years, and happy with their fraud protection.

  • Man this sucks. I'm sorry this happened to you. :(
  • Have you taken this up with bru? You should alert them so it doesn't happen to someone else.

Yes, I've called them several times today, but the people I talked seemed sympathetic enough, but not helpful.  I will call again tomorrow, and ask for the supervisor.

  • That sucks!  What a pain, but I am glad they caught it.
