broker recommendations?

Hi New York Nesties -- I posted a while back about moving here and now  I'm here! We just moved into a short-term Brooklyn apartment but will soon be on the hunt for a long-term place. I'm seriously considering using a broker. Has anyone worked with a broker that they'd recommend?

 Thanks!

Re: broker recommendations?

  • Yes! I literally *worked* with this broker as his assistant; Bob Manzari and his wife Bonnie McCartney, thru Corcoran group; http://corcoran.com/agents/profile.aspx?userid=BOB&region=NYC -they are such sweethearts!

And my friend is also an Assoc. Broker at Corcoran; Loring Murtha, http://corcoran.com/agents/profile.aspx?userid=LTM&region=NYC -he's worked with quite a few rental clients.

If you call up either of these agents, tell them that Meghan (Dickerson) Love recommended you! (i was Meghan Dickerson when i worked with Bob & Bonnie, so i don't think they're as familiar with my new name yet Wink)

    GL!

  • I *loved* our broker!  We used Kim from Cooper & Cooper. Seriously, I was so scared about the NYC apartment hunt after hearing friends' horror stories of bad brokers.  But honestly, I ended up actually enjoying the process because Kim was so awesome to go around town with!  And we ended up in an apartment we love in a location that other brokers basically told us was impossible with our budget.

I think they focus mostly on Manhattan.  Not sure where you are looking, but they are worth a phone call!

Also - check Yelp.com if you haven't yet.  It really good and insightful reviews of brokers.  That's how we found C&C and their rave reviews were well-deserved!
