Cincinnati Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Please stay around! This board used to be so active but it's sort of died in the past 6 months.
Re: Dear new people,
I'll stay around!! I know I will need some advice..
Speaking of..
Can someone help me really quick? I can't for the life of me figure out how to post a picture in my siggy. THANKS
I always have to Google it when I need to put a picture in my siggy. Here's something I found that might help you:
Signature pics and posing pics in posts
To put a pic in your sig or in a post you first have to have your pics uploaded to a hosting site like photobucket or snapfish. Right click the image you want (make sure you're viewing the full-sized picture and not the thumbnail, or preview), click Properties, and copy the Address (URL).
Go to www.tinyurl.com and put the URL into the input field there to make your URL small. Copy the resulting tiny url.
For a sig pic, this is the code (take our the *s):
<*img src="tinyurlhere">
You click on the smiley face icon at the top of the nest's page and scroll down on the window that pops up to the Signature space. Put that code in there with the tiny url you created earlier in it.
For a PIP, take this code (but remove the *s):
[*img]unboldedtinyurlhere[*/img]
Make sure you unbold the tiny url. I usually have the best luck if I post my image first, then write what I want to write. Often if I try to write something and then post the image the nest screws it up.
Posting links in your signature
Follow the instructions above to make the URL into a tiny url. Then put it into this code (remove *s):
For linked text: <*a href="tinyurlhere" target="_blank">Place linked text here<*/a>
For a linked image: <*a href="tinyurlhere" target="_blank"><*img src="tinyurlhere" border="0"><*/a>
Thank you so much!!! So very helpful, I Finally I see a picture.
Now, how do I shrink it? It's HUGE
In mine, I have some numbers and that usually allows you to control the size. I think you can do a width x length type of thing, too. I'm just not sure exactly how to do that.
Your pictures are beautiful!
Example (you don't need the asterisks) :
<*img src="http://tinyurl.com/nksv8l" width="300*>

Check out the posts on this page, there is one titled Book Club or something like that. Lauren posted it (laurenandjoe or something like that), and I think you can reply and add your e-mail, then she will send you an e-mail with the evite. Or you can page her on this board.
