Good morning...this board is running a little slow.
What's new ladies? Any exciting news? Any fun plans for the weekend? Anything in general you'd like to share? Ok, as you can see I'm a little bored. I have 15 mins before I officially start the work day, so I'm eating my breakfast and "Nesting". Nothing really too exciting happening in my life. ooh, I did finally get my period if anyone really cares. lol Well, for those of you who don't know, I was about 7 weeks late and a little panicky. Thankfully, I got it before the 13 weeks were up...then I would have had to pay the Dr. a visit. I sure miss the pill...it would come like clock work! Anyway, only 9 more days 'til DW...super excited! Have a wonderful day ladies. Hope you have some news to share...
Re: Good morning...this board is running a little slow.
Hey there! I am hanging out, waiting for the cable guy to come. I have a long wait ahead of me, I am sure.
I feel your pain on the irregular periods. I went off the pill over a year ago and am now just starting to have somewhat "normal" timing! I definitely had a few panicky moments those first few months too.
That's about all of the excitement in my life this morning.

Good morning!! I haven't been around much. Meredith is getting more & more active. SO I have limited time to nest.
Meredith is gonna be 1 in a few weeks so we're just putting the finishing touches on her party plans. Yesterday I picked up her candy cakes. A woman makes cakes out of candy pieces. They're really cute. And I picked up the beer & paper goods from costco.
Now the only thing left is to get the chips, dip & crudite. Oh and to pay the caterer.
It has been pretty slow here and i've been totally bored! But then i didn't have anything really interesting to talk about.
What a conundrum!
Hm...exciting news...i'm thisclose to being ready to open my 'store' on Etsy!! I crochet baby blankets. I've made a few for family and friends and they've all loved them so that got me thinking. I have about 6.5 blankets right now. I'm working on one that's taking forever cuz it's thin yarn!! Don't know if i'll do that again. And i have 2 other blankets that i just need to finish up. I'm really excited but i'm trying to not get my hopes up. It's not going to be a huge money maker, but it'll at least sustain my crocheting addiction.
I'll definitely let you ladies know when it's ready!!
This Saturday DH and i are heading out to NJ to visit our friends and their almost a month old daughter! I'm so excited!! She's such a cutie and has a full head of dark auburn hair! Like, mohawk-long hair! I've been going thru bouts of baby fever (unbeknownst to DH) and i'm hoping visiting Izzy will kick it out of me. Or calm it down. DH and i aren't having kids and he surgically made sure we wouldn't, but i get to daydreaming and obsessing...So who knows what will happen 5-10yrs from now! That's how i should look at it. Focus on now and what we're doing and all the traveling we keep talking about and *then*...maybe...?
And here's my own period TMI; back in January i was almost a week late and *completely* freaking out!! But then i started. And my cycles have stayed that long ever since. It's like my body went 'it's 2009...how do we shake it up? Oh, i know! Instead of 21 day cycles, lets do 28 day cycles!! Yeah!! Meghan's gonna love this!!'. But actually, i do like longer cycles cuz there would be times during the longer months that i'd basically get 2 periods. Awesome.
Okay, that's my story.

Finally! A Married Bio!!
Hi ladies!
I have been so busy these past two weeks - I've been working two full time jobs! My boss at my old job is on vacation, so I've been covering the office until she gets back. But I started my new job on the 17th, so I've been running back and forth between both offices (New Rochelle and White Plains) and I'm exhausted!
So, it seems like a lot of us have recently gone off the pill - I have a question for you ladies. Did you break out like a teenager after you stopped the pill? I stopped in April and ever since then, my skin has been sooooo oily and I have major pimples on my forehead AND my shoulders and back. It's disgusting!! I'm using Nutrogena acne wash and it's sort of helping with the oily-ness, but the pimples are still there.
I never even had acne as a teen , so I am freaking out that I all of a sudden have it now!
Good morning ladies!
Nothing too exciting over here...I wanna go sleep. Went out for drinks last night, then stayed up till like midnight waiting for DH to get home from WORK!! Crazy! And he was up before 6 again, heading to work...poor thing.
Re the pill, I miss it too. I think it had a good effect on my hair! Now my hair is like a monster released!! Hate it...but what can ya do?

Hi ladies!! I'm here. I've been on the bump mostly since DH and I are TTC but other than that I'm pretty bored. I got let go from my job back in June, which was nice at the time because it was 3 weeks before my wedding and had time to finish everything up. DH's parents and sister live down the Jersey shore so it's been nice to have the summer off, but now I'm just plain bored. I started sending my resume out but it's slim pickins right now. There's one job a applied for that I REALLY hope I hear back from.
::crosses fingers::
We've definitely had a couple busy/exciting weeks. Here's what's going on in our lives: (hee hee hee)
DH is waiting for the final/written offer from the new company. But he's not 100% sure because it will be much more challenging and difficult (even though thats what he says he wants!) and he's a little worried that the hours would be long and as he put it "I do want time to spend with you and the little one". So - its probably a go, but I'm letting him decide. The pay is about 5K more a year plus there was mention of a bonus that almost made me fall off the chair when I heard the amount. lol. so who knows.
We told my family two weekends ago about the little one on the way and DH's family last weekend. It was really funny when we told them last friday. I had bought yarn (MIL loves to knit) and a Dutch children's book for FIL (he's dutch and the book was about grandma and grandpa). It took them awhile to get it. It was really hilarious - but then really great. I still don't think it set in by then end of the weekend. then when we went shopping on Saturday (MIL had to get a dress for a gala/event) and she was like you have to try one on too!! So I tried on a couple and she ended up buying me this really great dress for an upcoming wedding. I think her words were "I want to buy it for you because your carrying my grandchild..." Pretty hysterical, but I love the dress and it was big time on sale.
To correspond with the TMI pill/period topic - I was off the pill for almost 2 yrs before becoming pregnant. I was really worried that I would start breaking out majorly with all the pregnancy hormones, but I think everything has kind of stayed low-key! I'm also trying a new face wash/stuff called Acne Free. I think the key is to try different brands/treatments to find what works. Mine would be I need an exfoliating face wash and toner every AM & PM.
Ok, and one more topic: I'm debating about our labor day plans. I really would love to rent a house/room by a lake or beach for some just really quiet down-time with DH. But I want to have an easy travel to the locale and fairly cheap. And really, if we are staying over night we'd probably need to bring along the pup. sigh - I want/need to relax away from the city, but I don't want to spend a lot. ::off to research more weekend getaway options::
hmm- I didn't break out when I went off the pill (but I wasn't off very long). I did break out when I got pregnant though, like immediately.
Beatrix and I are just hanging out- I think I am about to join her in a nap. Our little girl is certainly a night owl!
not a whole lot here...
We're still trying to get the paperwork straightened out for the house and the contract signed. My lawyer was on vacation Mon & Tues and I'm still waiting to hear back from him since his return. (I'm losing patience)
I was officially told that we have to start packing up my office to move (the two of us that are here full time) upstairs into a small conference room in my clients office. I'm not happy about this at all.
and on the BCP topic, I've been off for almost 2 years and I still break out more than I did on it.
oh, and Clomid is making me cranky as all hell.
wow...there is a lot of info here for me to digest. lol
As for the pill, I haven't really noticed any changes except my crazy periods, other than that, I think my skin has stayed the same. =/
Meg: Best of luck on the store...that would be awesome! I would definitely buy a baby blanket...well once I have one of course. hehe
Liza: I can't really think of any beachy places, but DH and I used to go up to Rhinebeck, NY all the time and stay at a lovely B&B called the Belvedere mansion. www.belvederemansion.com it's a really pretty place not too far from the hudson river. Let me know what you decide on.
It's definitely one of those slow, moving days--my office is so quiet, it's errie!
Re: the BC consensus, I have been of the pill for almost two years and I much prefer to be hormone free! I was a weight-gainer on the pill, (and I'm already a curvy gal) and literally, within weeks after being off it, I shed inches like magic and everyone was intrigued about my "weight-loss" secret." My skin remains pretty clear, aside from an occasional "period pimple," but the common draw-back is when stressed, my period will visit off the clock. I've made the resolution that after five years of being on the pill, I'm not going back to putting un-necessary hormones in body, if I can help it.
In other news, in my world this week: today I had the dreaded pap smear exam, having waited for my doctor for an hour, then rushing back to the office! I'm a little concerned because my doctor wants me to have a pelvic ultrasound because she has a suspicion I could have polycystic ovaries. Despite my numbers being labeled "great," and not appearing to be a likely candidate, I do have a couple slight signs that don't add up to her medically. She urged me to get the sonogram, especially since I want to TTC in a couple years. Has anyone ever experienced this?
In more uplifting news, DH and I are making the most of his few hours away from the restaurant, and had a great date night this week. We did nothing grand, but just went for a drive and picked up some great Jamaican take-out for dinner. As a "chef's widow," I have to take my time when I can. So, there's a great peace in my household lately
