DH and I are taking a trip mid Sept. He just booked our tickets and booked mine with my married name.
My passport is still in my maiden name though. Do I need to call and get the ticket changed so it's issued in my maiden name?
I'm not sure how it will work since my ticket won't match my passport.
Anyone know what to do?
Re: Travelling Passport Q
Your passport needs to match your ticket unless you want to potentially run into some hassles.
If it is easy enough to change your ticket then I would do that.
You have to match. Hopefully it's easy to change your ticket!
I booked a flight a year after the wedding in my married name, but they wouldn't let me change it to my maiden without lots o fees so ended up changing my passport (which was up for renewal in 6 months anyway), which led me to changing everything.
It's so easy to forget these things when we are juggling two names!
Where are you guys going?
As soon as I posted I decided to call and change it, apparantly they can't change it though! (he seriously booked it 30 mins ago, why they can't change it is beyond me)
But they put a note in the system with my maiden name for Air Canada so said it should be okay... I hope there are no problems!
We are going to PARIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (can you tell I'm a little excited
)
HOLY CRAP I AM SO JEALOUS!
I can't go today, but will get my pics done, and then go Monday morning, I'm in Sarnia for the weekend
and they have no passport office (nevermind one that's open Saturday) so Monday will have to do. We leave 3 weeks this Sat, so I should have enough time to get it done.
I really don't like the idea of them making my current passport invalid though, just in case there is a delay, then I'm totally without a passport and definitely way more screwed than just having the ticket in the wrong name.
