Booked Hot Air Balloon!!! Need dinner recs now....
We are flying out of Bird in Hand and was wondering if anyone knew of a good steakhouse or seafood place between there and York??
I am so freaking excited I can hardly contain myself!!!!!!

Yay...I'm so excited it worked out for you! When did you book your flight? I hope the weather cooperates so it isn't cancelled. Let us know all about it after your flight.
I'm not much help with restaurants though!
If you don't mind a chain restaurant...Longhorn steakhouse is pretty good and I know they have a location in York and one in Lancaster.
I've never been to this place in Lancaster but DH was there a couple times and still talks about it.
If you are looking for a chain steak house, there is Texas Roadhouse (closest to Bird In Hand), Outback, Damon's and Longhorn. If you want something a little nicer but still affordable, there is Doc Holiday's. I recommend them! I personally advise to stay away from Cactus Willies in Lancaster. It is a buffet, and not a very nice one, at that. But I'm a foodie!
For seafood, there is Gilbraltar (pricier, but fabulous), Kegels (decent, but not in the best part of town), or if you like crabs, there is Chesapeake Crab Connection on Columbia Avenue. There is also Red Lobster (which is close to Bird In Hand).
That sounds like such a fun day! Enjoy!
Oh my goodness do NOT go here! It is HORRIBLE! It is a buffet and they are always written up for healthcode violations. It is not a nice place to go.
You know where Texas Roadhouse is in York, right?
And if you want something nice, check out Olde Greenfield Inn in Lancaster. It is great. They have a great NY Strip. We go there every year on our anniversary. Request the cellar room. It is pretty private... I think there are only one or two tables down there.
I booked it for October 17th.... I hope the weather cooperates as well.... we have a "lifetime" to reschedule if the weather is bad.
I will stay away from Cactue Willie's.... my BIL raves about it and we were all there once... I have NO desire to go back!

Sara I hope you find a great place for dinner and that you have a wonderful balloon ride. You'll have to give us a report afterwards. My aunt has done it a couple times years ago and said it was such an awesome rush. I don't think I would be able to do it because I have such a fear of heights!
I LOVE J.B. Dawsons at Park City Center. Its a steakhouse and they have great food! I LOVE their garlic mashed potatoes and their shoe string french fries. VERY good food! ;D

I know that... I was writing the warning to warn both you and Sara to not go there. You said you hadn't been there so I wanted to let you know what it was and how bad they were.
I kinda forgot about that place... I have been there before and really liked it, DH did too. So far that is my front runner~

I just wanted to let you know that Doc Holidays is now closed in Lancaster. It used to be on campus at Franklin & Marshall but has been out of business all summer I believe. There is a place right next to where it used to be called Iron Hill Brewery. It's a chain, but each individual restaurant has it's own "brew master" and DH really likes it there. Also, if you're of the beer persuasion and don't want a chain, the Lancaster Brewing Company downtown has good food, even better beer, and a fun atmosphere. I'm of no help eating in Bird in Hand as the only restaurants I know of are of the touristy dutchy quality.
I kind of sound like an alchie here, but I know I would need a few bottles of liquid courage before heading up in that thing!!!! Have fun
