Hi there,

Thank you for your response to my post regarding immigration.
I thought about doing it myself but I was confused where to start, which form to send first and got more confused when I checked the immigration site..
If I don't file correctly, would my case be denied or do I get a chance to file again?

Thanks in advance for your help and have a great day!
WR

  • Hi:

I know it is overwhelming at first but you just have to dedicate yourself to taking some time to do it. And print out both the instructional pages and the actual application pages. I usually print out 2 application forms and fill out the first in pencil to deal with errors etc. The new forms are super easy; they come with a checklist. On uscis website, they usually have a section for specific situations, if one of those situations matches yours, go ahead and print the associated forms and start doing your checklist. So I usually tick all what they ask as I go.

Just try to ensure all that applies to you is submitted and write in N/A for those that do not apply. I wrote N/A in every box/line that did not concern me. I didn't care. And I think they specify what color ink to use too. Tongue Tied

If you are missing a document, they usually will write you to ask you for it, advising you that they cannot take further action unless you submit said documents. My husband filed for his citizenship all by himself and let me tell you, he is not a thorough guy when it comes to paperwork and there was not one glitch!

Good luck and if you have any further questions, I am more than happy to help!
