Is anyone planning on going to the Pet Palooza at River downs on Sept. 26? Just wondering if anyone is going or has gone in the past. DH and I are going, and will hopefully get some good information and possibly find a dog!
Re: River Downs Pet Palooza
Tulum itself is AMAZING! With that being said, I would not want to spend 4 hours on a bus to get to the ruins. Mainly b/c that's a lot of time that you really aren't seeing anything. The ruins were nice, HOWEVER, it was terribly hot outside. I have never sweat so much in my life, it was horrible. We were warned ahead of time that we would have to get extra liquids and snacks because the heat is so intense and there is virtually no shade at all. If you find shade, it's pretty busy with people. We went through 4 gatorades and some snacks (we were there for about 2 hours). We didn't go down to the beach because we were too hot to take the staires, however it was beautiful! I'd suggest waiting to see them if you ever plan on taking a trip to Mexico and stay somewhere on land, not a cruise. We were lucky that we were about 5 minutes away from them at our resort. I'm glad we went, but we wouldn't go back if we went back to Tulum, we'd go see other ruins. I don't know if there would be some other ruins a little closer to your port of call??
