Mohonk Mt. House

anyone ever been? since I've been on a weekend getaway-idea-binge lately, I found a site that goes over 'babymoon' packages and Mohonk Mt. House has one called "Hello Baby!" It would definitely be more of a splurge vacation for us, but I've been really wanting to go to this place. I've spent all morning dreaming about their spa, indoor pool, relaxing scenery, etc.

I'm thinking trying to go in October-November before the holidays and before I get massive!! haha.

Re: Mohonk Mt. House

  • I haven't been but i've been daydreaming about it too!! My former boss went there for a real estate retreat a few years ago and came back raving about it! I'd never heard of it so we looked up their website and i was *smitten*! I really wanna go someday!

Tell us how it is if you do go! Wink

  • I did have a friend go on a girls weekend trip and she got food poisoning at dinner and had to leave after 1 day.  The rest of the women had an awesome time.
  • I havent been by DH was there once and he said its amazingly beautiful. We actually bought both our parents a weekend package there for x-mas last year. His parents went already and they said it was beautiful and so peaceful. I say go for it, from what I hear you;ll love it. I'm kinda hoping we can do this for a weekend soon as well.Big Smile

  • I haven't stayed there but I have eaten there many times and hiked around the grounds.  My grandmother lived in New Paltz and that was a favorite place for us to go, especially on a crisp fall day.  If you do go, definitely take advantage of their many trails and walks.  The view is just beautiful.  I have vivid memories of my dad and me taking out paddle boats on the lake.
  • We went for New Years Eve a few years ago and spent a few days. It was wonderful. The food was fantastic and we loved the hiking, easy to hard levels. We had a great time.
