To preface this: MH and I were in a car accident once and almost got blamed for it, because nobody stayed to give the police a statement. It was our word against the other driver's (who lied!), and only a lucky break kept us from being responsible. To repay Karma, when we see an accident we stay to be witnesses.
About a week ago, MH and I were driving to the grocery store and saw a girl get hit by a car! Thankfully she was okay. The sign said "Don't Walk", but she ran through it anyway, trying to meet someone on the other side. A car came up through the turn lane and ran right into her. They were going really slowly heading into the turn, so there were no serious injuries. We gave statements and filled out witness reports. It was scary! I'd never seen a pedestrian get hit before.
Today, on the way to work, I was front & center for another accident! This time, two cars collided right in front of me as I was waiting to turn into my office. Again, everyone was okay, and I stayed to be a witness. The best part was that my Executive VP of HR's office has a great view of the intersection... I sure hope she saw me sitting in the back of a cop car this morning (while I wrote out my statement).
So, that's two accidents I've witnessed in as many weeks. I'm so thankful that no one has been hurt, but I'm also getting paranoid that something is coming for me! It's like that cr@ppy movie, Final Destination. Except this is more like Final Random Traffic Accident.
Plus, if this happens again, the police will think I'm some crazy person who drives to the scenes of accidents and pretends to be a witness for the attention.

Re: I keep witnessing car accidents!
That's so good of you to stay and be a witness if you see an accident. Once I saw people with signs on a corner that said "If you saw and accident here 3 days ago, please stop and talk with me", so I am sure your efforts are much appreciated. That being said, 2 accidents in 2 weeks - I say probably just a coincidence. Maybe it's end-of-summer, I'm in such a big hurry, etc. Although, is it ALSO conincidence that Final Destination 534 the movie is also coming out today???!?!?
(OK, and it's just F.D. 4, but c'mon how many of these movies can they make???). I'm sending you positive car/driving vibes today.

eek! that is scary. I hope your witness quota is filled (for you and everyone else's sake!)
No kidding! I don't want to be the cause of other people's bad days!
Scary! I hate accidents. I've been in four of them (none my fault!), and thankfully, they were all pretty minor. But one of my biggest fears now is getting into an accident. I'd be really spooked, too!
