I am sooooooooo fed up with Verizon. So so so so fed up. I just spent 1:45 on the phone trying to get a flucking password reset. I was trasfered to 9 different people. One girl who worked in Tech Support couldn't figure it out, so what did she do? She tranfered me to sales and services....SALES AND SERVICES DOESN'T RESET PASSWORDS,
I don't even know what I should do right now, but I feel I should file a formal complaint. I know this seems like I am blowing this out of porportion, but I've had Verizon services for over a year and I've had to call them about something every single month we've been with them. I have reached my tipping point with them. Finally this month we get a bill that's correct. I try to log into my account, and for some effing reason or another they reset my password on me.
Re: More mad than I've been in a long time
You can't reset in yourself online? That's annoying! I would file a complaint with Verizon, you will probably get some kind of credit out of it.
FWIW I have had AT&T for a decade with little to no problems over the years....

Verizon also made me more mad than I had been in a long time at the end of last year...but it was in the store. I had Verizon service before it was even Verizon (10+ years)...I went in with my phone because I had gotten literally 15 dropped calls in the span of about 1 hour. I never dropped calls like that and what sucked even worse is that I was trying to have a call with my manager at the time (and it was the only phone I had at home).
I took my phone to the customer service technicians...the guy gave me this attitude and said "nothing is wrong with it" - I told him something had to be...and he said "well I have this phone and I've never dropped a call" (said very degrading). I proceeded to walk out the door, tell the manager of the store that I'd be switching to AT&T...and then switched to AT&T.
I have no tolerance for poor customer service...especially with long-time customers. So far, I've loved AT&T and my iPhone!
If I were you, I'd call back...ask immediately to speak to a supervisor (they'll try to solve it, put your foot down, say no - only want to speak to the person's supervisor)...and file a complaint.
BTW, I'd also threaten to switch to AT&T. It's amazing the deals they'll come up with if you threaten to end your contract.
That's what the problem was...when I tried to look up the password myself, it prompted me to put in the phone number associated with the account. It would default to my husband's old verizon username/password when he only had wireless. We've recently combined everything on to one bill and had to re-register with a new username and password which is the one I was trying to reset.
I used to have ATT and Comcast cable. We switched to FiOs probably 2 or so years ago, and last Oct. switched from ATT wireless to Verizon. We love the cable and the internet, which is better than Comcast, but there's no difference in wireless service between ATT and Verizon. For all the crap I've had to deal with and piss poor customer service, Verizon isn't even worth it to me anymore.
I am dropping my wireless account and getting an iPhone next week anyway.

You're kidding, right? If stuff liked that happened there would be no such thing as internet security. Want to know what it defaulted to? Un854y%23

Ugh, Shag, I feel ya. I love my FiOs, but I see no difference between the phone services.
That being said, I've had both AT&T and Verizon, and it's shitty in both places. H HATES his iPhone - he pays out the ass for it, and he gets ZERO service at our apartment - which makes NO sense. The rep said it might be because we live in a steel reinforced building (which I don't think really makes a difference) but he's switching to a BlackBerry at the end of his term since I still get decent service with Verizon lol...
Regardless tho, all companies like that have some kind of shiit service. Don't let it get ya down
Just threaten to leave (which we did when our FiOs got wonky) and they refunded us 2 months worth of payments, gave us a $100 Visa gift card, and we got free ShowTime and HBO for the next 6 months. Cool with me lol
