Poll: Who picked out your engagement ring?
I saw this poll on a knot board and was just curious what the percentages would be like with you girls.[Poll]
Re: Poll: Who picked out your engagement ring?
For as long as I can remember, I wanted an emerald cut diamond, (that is what my grandmother has). I told him that and he went from there.

hmm. I was going to guess that "shopping together" was going to win. We'll see.
And now I want to know how it went for the people who picked "other". What scenario did I miss?

Yes, it was torture. And you can bet that I searched our tiny apartment inside and out to try to find the damn thing... to no avail. Turns out, he was hiding it inside the seat of his motorcycle in the garage (the clever devil!)
P.S. I misses you mostest.
M is far more clever than W, who had my ring in the box in the bag CHILLING ON TOP OF HIS DRESSER.
p.s. Just found a $25 off purchase of $50 at BB&B plus the $60 store credit. Looks like I'm getting my duvet set there. That'd be the best option financially, right?

DH picked out my ring on his own. He did a wonderful job, it's everything I would have picked out for myself.
we shopped together to give him an idea of what i liked. then he picked out the actual ring on his own.
?
DH and I went ring shopping but we didn't see anything we loved. He began designed a ring that he was looking for and got a local jeweler to do it.
But, poor thing kept taking me to look at rings even after he had the ring made to throw me off. But, then I found a beautiful ring that I loved at the jeweler he got to make my ring, and it was 40% off for a fourth of july sale. I dragged him in there with me and made him look at it. So, when i come in the next week and it is gone, i assume he bought it.
Funny enough, the ring he got me is very similar to the one I loved, so when he proposed I was so excited I barely looked at the ring besides to see the shape. I was saying, I knew you bought me that ring...and he was so hurt I didn't notice that he had it made!
I knew I wanted an inexpensive engagement ring because I didn't want to wear two rings at the same time so I knew it would go into a drawer as soon as I got my "real" ring (wedding band). We did go to a national chain jeweler first and were appalled at their terrible selection and worse prices. I wanted a sapphire, my birthstone, and they had exactly one.
So I found a few rings I liked on eBay and he won the one I liked best. Win.
