BR: Nursing Bra Rave

Hi Ladies -- I thougth I would pass the word on these bras....I am about to order two more since they are so awesome.  You don't need nursing pads (which are a PITA anyway) at all....they are having a special right now as well with each bra being 2 for $50.  I did notice they run a little small on me.  I have been fitting into a 36 but with this one, I am going to order a 38.

I have been using my two bras exclusivley and love them so far. I hope this can help some of the other ladies who plan or are breastfeeding.  I have both the underwire and non-underwire...I like the underwire the best though.

Re: BR: Nursing Bra Rave

  • wow thanks for posting this - i'm in need of a new bra!  i'm curious though - where does the milk go if there aren't any pads?  does the bra soak it up and it somehow evaporates or wicks away??
  • I live in my medela sleep bra when I'm home alone. It works perfect. Where did you try on these bras to know your size? Im a 36E in the medela underwire and non-underwire bras and a medium in the sleep bra (the large is too big around my ribs)... I'm running over on the E cups sometimes too, scary if you ask me! I'd want to be sure to order the right size though. I HATE nursing pads and I don't even leak that much but I fear the day I go without them will be the day I leak like crazy!
  • thanks! too bad I think I am still growing and can't order anything yet - i've emailed them though to see if they will let me pay now and ship later :)

i thought you werent' supposed to wear underwire when you are nursing or else you get clogged ducts??

  • I think it wicks it away...it does need to be washed after every use though....My nips are never wet or my shirt:-)

I've heard this too, but I haven't had any problems yet.  You really need to be sure you get a bra that fits. I've heard the reason for the clogged ducts is because people don't buy bras big enough (the wire needs to be under the arm).  HTH.  The soft cup is just as nice though..I used one today and it is actually easier to pull down while nursing.

I didn't try them on, I just went with what my cup size was and took a chance.  I do think I could go up from a D to a DD but my mom thinks I should be good.  I think that the owner would let you exchange if the size was not right and you still had the tags attached.  I would try to email her and ask.  HTH

  • FYI - Rita did contact me back and said that I could do that - she will just send me a gift certificate to use later when I know my actual size :)
  • Boo!  They don't carry my size.  Great deal though.  I shudder to think where I will be able to find nursing bras to fit.  I am currently up to a 42DDD (F) from a 40DDD pre-preg (although the 42DDD has some room, which I wanted since I just bought them and figured I may still "fill out" a bit).  So that means I will need at least a 42F or maybe 42G nursing bra.  EEK!  42DDD is already a challenge to find off-the-rack (thank goodness for Kohls and JCP).  I better start searching the internet NOW!

FWIW, after baby #2 I plan to get a breast reduction and a tummy tuck...hopefully for my 40th birthday!
