Which wineries did you go to this weekend? We went the beginning of the summer and are still working our way through our two cases. I had a bottle of Thirsty Owl Riesling ready for dinner tonight but our neighbors brought a bottle so we drank that, I guess we will have to have it later this week now that I have been thinking about it.
Re: **Drvwife**
Sign me up! Sorry you had to deal with a b!tch. That sucks.
We usually go up for the wine and herb festival on Cayuga in May. We are hoping to get up there with another couple this fall. Part of our "plan" is to move there in 10 or 15 years.
Feel free to butt in Jen! I think October sounds good.... It would take most of us 4-5 hours to get there so we would have to make it a weekend trip. We usually stay at Halsey House B&B but we stayed at Taughannock Farms Inn last time to save some $$ (and relive memories since that is where we had our wedding reception).
Can I be nosy and ask how much it costs to rent a limo/van for a day? I see them every time we are up there and always thought that would be a lot of fun. I usually end up driving and DH drinks (to make it more enjoyable for him, since I enjoy it no matter what).
October would so work for me!
Last year when we did the limo trip, we did it from our house to the lake and back. It was about 12 hours and the total cost was about $1300 plus a tip for the driver. The limo bus could accomadate about 16 people. I am not sure if that would work for coming up from Lancaster/York/Harrisburg but for us it was about a 3 hour drive up (normally for us in our car it is a little over 2 hours) and then all our stops at the wineries and the 3 hour drive back. The best part of that was that we could eat, drink and sleep whenever we wanted. We brought lots of snack type things and had mimosas on the ride up!
I would seriously work on an October trip if anyone is really interested...maybe I should make a seperate post.
