500 Days of Summer

DH and I watched it this past weekend (it was my bday weekend so I got to pick MY movie :-P). It was GOOD! I didn't have an idea what the story was about so we were pleasantly surprised how good it was. Some people actually applaused at the end of the movie. It was very entertaining and the storyline is very realistic. I am sure a lot of us can relate one way or another. My DH liked the movie too. There are a lot of funny scenes and a pretty good ending :-). This is NOT a chick flick! This movie reminds me of Love Actually. A good movie to watch for date nights with your DH!  :-)

Has anybody else seen this?

  • Glad you had a good bday weekend :-)

I haven't even heard of this movie.  What is it about?

  • I saw it earlier this month and absolutely LOVED IT!  I totally agree, it is NOT a chick flick - it's a story about a boy meets girl.  ;)  Ha ha ha.  I even bought the soundtrack.  I can't believe Joseph Gorden-Levitt is all grown up - I remember him from 3rd Rock from the Sun.

After seeing "500 Days", I got on this romance/date movie kick and have since watched "Singles", "Say Anything", "About a Boy"...."500" is similar but definitely a fresh take.  I cannot recommend this movie enough for a great end-of-summer flick.  I only wish I had seen it with DH (I'm part of a girl's movie club where we see indie films once a month) - well, I guess I can see it again!

  • Cathy, it's a romantic comedy. It's a must see! :-).

"She's like the wind" hahaha...DH and I kept remembering that song line and it cracks us up everytime lol. Love the part when he danced to work! Hilarious!

  • darn, I wish I would have known this before this weekend.  MH actually suggested a movie date on Sat. afternoon, but I didn't know if there were any movies out that I wanted to see.

That scene is awesome!  P.S. Not really a spoiler, but a scene from the movie - you have been warned.  :)

  • I liked it, too.  It wasn't really what I expected, but in a good way.

  • I liked it, but I didn't love it.  I think I expected too much with all the hype I had heard.  I did think it was pretty cool the way they integrated the story with the flashbacks and all, without making it totally confusing.

  • I liked it too.  Not my favorite movie ever, but it was definitely good.  The hub even liked it.
