I am planning on booking a ticket from Airmiles to Vancouver in October and the Airmiles lady is telling me that I "need" to be at the airport 2 hours ahead of time. I have never been at the airport that early for a domestic flight. What are your tried and true flight experiences?
I am flying only with carry-on and it's only the Winnipeg airport (very small).
Re: Domestic Flights
Is there anything you have to do when you get there (aside check in?), when I fly domestic, I'm there 60 mins before my flight (when carryon only) and have yet to have an issue b/c you can check in online and then you just have to get through security.
If you already have a ticket I don't see why you would have to be there so early...
2 hours is the standard time they tell you for domestic (3 hours for international). That doesn't mean that anyone actually goes by it.
For domestic flights I tend to get there 90 minutes ahead of time if I am checking bags. About 75 minutes before if I am not checking bags.
Although I wonder if because you are booking under miles there are special rules about the timing and if you don't check in within that timeframe they give your seat to a paying customer?
