Do any of you have killer heartburn. I can not kick it today, and it is so uncomfortable, I haven't eaten since about 11:15 at lunch.
I have tried:
A ridiculous number of tums
Baking Soda and Water
Nothing works. Do any of you know if Pepcid AC is on the OK list. I just can't take this anymore.
Re: PG Ladies - question
::raises hand::
I swear my child has a freaking blowtorch down there and is amused by firing it up my esophagus. I have taken to sleeping at a 45 degree angle to try and get some relief at night so I can actually sleep.
Pepcid is ok, Ali. I finally found that medicine list. I will email it to you tomorrow. Promise!
zantac helped me out in the earlier days, but i've had to try reglan (no help) and i'm now on prilosec (helping so far).
i was to the point where i was chewing up 6-8 tums at work, and getting up every night to take 2 or 3 more. =(
I also sleep sitting up. Today I think it has been more reflux, because I am getting the acid up in my mouth, it is the most horrible feeling. I am about to go take the pepcid.
My MIL told me that the old wives tale about constant heartburn during pregnancy. It says the baby will come out with a full head of hair. There have actually been medical studies on this, and she told me that all of the studies come back that it is true. It was true for two of my SILs. They're babies have has beautiful hair, but for nine months they felt like dying b/c of the heart burn.
My MIL told me the same thing. If this is true, I am giving birth to a baby gorilla! However, I've had several girls on the tri boards say that they had killer heartburn and bald babies.
Oh and if any other pg girls would like a copy of the medicine list, just pm me your email address!
Haha!! No joke! I am right there with you.
I had KILLER heartburn from the moment she was conceived practically until she was born. I ate the limit of tums each day and the only thing that helped was the tums and drinking milk.
Oh and the old wives tale is NOT true because Elise had the faintest hint of hair! She's finally getting some hair now at a year old!
