I love where I'm from because...

to try to get something going, maybe other people have pictures of where they're from.  I just hiked my first 14er this weekend and was in awe of how gorgeous.  So if you want, play along.  I love Colorado because:

  • I love Colorado as well! Great pictures.

  • I love Huntsville because we're at the foot of the Appalachians so we have beautiful rolling hills.  I get to pass this spot almost daily driving.  I missed the greenery a lot when I lived in Atlanta.  I pulled off on the side of the road last spring to take this photo...

I also love where I live (house-wise) because we have a couple of neighborhood lakes and I get to hear the geese fly over a couple of times a day.  I don't know why, but I love hearing them.  Here is a photo I took last winter of the geese flying over...

  • I love where I'm from because it's gorgeous weather, and there's tons of variety. You can be in the mountains, at the beach, or in the desert, or in a big city, all within a one hour drive or less.

  • Mmm, I don't have a good reason for loving where I'm from, but I'll share some pics anyway. :)

I love all of these pictures! We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful and diverse country. I love where I'm from (South Florida) because this is our backyard. We have year-round near-ideal weather (though a little too hot at times) and it's just paradise of water, boating, great restaurants and shopping.?

  • I grew up in Iowa and I love the wide open spaces...  I dont have any good pictures at work, so this iPhone pic from our last drive home will have to do for now.  This was taken through the front windshield of the car about 2 months ago about 30 minutes outside of my town on I-80.

I agree with you 100% SBS....but you also forgot to mention that you can be in a different country (Mexico) within 30 minute drive as well Wink

I love where I'm from because Boston is the best place to be EVER. (I may be a bit biased on the subject, of course)

From the historical perspective, from the sports perspective, from the student and professional perspectives, I live in one of the most cultural and amazing places in the US. An few hours to the North/ East, I can go skiing and hiking.  An hour to the South/ West, I can be at the beach.  I can walk the same trail that Paul Revere rode, I can see where the Revolutionary War began in Lexington and Concord, I can stand in the same spot where the Boston Tea Party was started. I can go see the Sox/ Pats/ Celts/ Bruins, I can visit tons of colleges, I can hang out at clubs and bars and malls and museums. I can also live 10 minutes away and still feel like I'm part of that atmosphere because of the great subway/ transportation system.

Boston's just the coolest place to live :)

I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.
