  We used American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC) and we liked them a lot. It sucks to be in that situation, but they helped get us under control.

  I think friends of mine used Cincinnati Consumer Credit Counseling-which is now Apprisen maybe (or at least according to google).  I do know that it was a non-profit and I'm pretty sure they didn't have to pay any big "fees" like some shady companies charge.

  I' used to share office space with Consumer Credit Counseling Services, like Daves mentioned. I'd recommend them.

  I have worked with this company as a creditor and they were wonderful to work with. Things to note. You should not pay for their service. They get money from your creditors. For example, when they sent me a check for my resident we had a preset amount that they took out as a donation. If you choose to go with another company look for a non-profit and one that is government approved.
