The Duggars - 19 kids and counting!!??
Mrs. Duggar is pregnant again...her 19th baby!! WTH? How many kids do they plan to have? 40? Geez louise! 
. I read that their 1st grandchild will be 5 months older than the 19th baby!

lol, i totally didn't think about that. Doubt they plan to send them all to college? Maybe they expect them to take out student loans?

I've wondered this myself! She must be a seriously fertile woman. I think they started in their 20's, so she'd be in her mid/late-40's now, wouldn't she?
Seems like this woman is crazy fertile! I read somewhere that she is 42. At this rate, she will probably have a few more before menopause
I'm assuming with 19 kids, each kid has to take care of his/her own college education...
I don't actually watch it either, so I've heard conflicting reports on this. Some people say that they only encourage their sons to go to college since their daughters will be wives/mothers and won't "need" to go. Others say that they encourage all of their children equally if they show an interest in going. *shrug* I really don't know.
I think their religion says not to practice any birth control... so I guess this is what will happen! I think their 18th child is only 9 months old right now.
Maybe with the $$ they get from the show, they will be able to help their kids with college?
EW. I don't understand why they don't use charting/natural family planning to avoid sex during her fertile time. I understand they don't want to use BC, but avoiding ovulation? Is it against their religion? How this woman is not tripping over her ute and wearing Depends at this point is beyond me.

Pretty much! I read somewhere that she's spent about 25 years breastfeeding nonstop (although now that number seems high to me - maybe 20 years, if that's roughly how long they've been having kids?).
I have to say though, even though their lifestyle isn't my cup of tea, I do respect them far more than other reality show families. Although I don't watch the show, I have read and seen interviews, etc., and they seem like a remarkably well adjusted family who still have a fairly humble outlook on life and haven't turned into famewhores.
agreed. definitely not my style, but they seem to have figured out what works for them, and the kids seem well adjusted.
people.com had a "schedule" of their day recently. i think their oldest is 21 (maybe 22 now?) - got married last year and is already pregnant - so who knows how many grandchildren they will have! i remember hearing something about the family sending him off to college, but yeah, don't know about the girls...
also, they have at least 1 set of twins, maybe 2. but yes - she must have started breastfeeding over 20 years ago - and just never stopped! that's one of the ways she knows she's pregnant again - when the baby reacts differently to her milk
good way to save on formula, i suppose!
I could never imagine having a family this big or living the way they do but they do seem happy and what they've been doing seems to work for them. On their TLC show, they've been going out to a lot of new places and experiencing new things and I really really hope that it doesn't have a negative effect on the family. With J&K+8, it shifted from believable reality tv to something so materialistic and fake once they started going on trips all over the place and doing shows for the sake of plugging a product. It would be a shame to see that happen to the Duggars...
One thing that boggles me though, to be pregnant that many times and for soooo long without a real break, is a uterus ever meant to withstand that kind of wear & tear? Yikes!
