welcome to my pity party.

:(

I gave myself a black eye last night after taking off my glasses in bed, and bopping myself in the eyelid. ?It's rather painful.

Today is the end of cycle 12 TTC. ?Feck. ?(I had low hopes going into this cycle, I am certain there is something going on and it's simply not poor timing). ?Dave is on his way to the beer store for me now. ?We haven't found a Dr. at a private practice who is accepting new patients, so our options are to either stay with the terrible Dr. we have now, or chance joining a new "health network" (which we expect similar poor service from). ?I don't know if we should try seeing someone new hoping they'll help us with our TTC right away or not. ?

I am still not back up to F/T hours at work. ?They just took on more space (which we didn't need) instead of bringing hours back. ?I am beginning to think I need to start looking elsewhere for work, even though I love what I do, I know there is zero upward mobility here, and it's not feasible to stay where I am long term.

/vent over.?

Have you looked outside of the Guelph area for doctors? I know a few ladies on the board have some names of doctors that are in the general area that you could check out. Sorry you have a douchetastic doctor. Is he even doing anything to find out if there are issues?

  • That's no fun. I'd be bumming out as well.

     Yay for beer at least!

  • Sorry you're having a tough week. Hope beer helps at least a little!?!
  • Sounds like a crappy night indeed. I hope some positive things come your way soon. Especially with the job, I remember how excited you were to get that position (and how it took a while for it to come along) I really hope it works itself out. Beer
  • I'm sorry you're so bummed right now. Have you talked to your doctor about doing some investigation on the fertility front at all?

That really sucks about your job, like Shannon I remember when you got the job and you were so psyched. I hope that it gets better for you.

  • Thanks.

In regards to my Doctor, I dunno, she just doesn't seem to care or have motivation to help us with anything in the last year.

About work, I love my job... I just want to be somewhere that has room to grow. ?It's like my job is getting smaller instead of having added tasks or any sort of wage increase. ?They are great people, but I don't think that's enough for me long term.

    ?

And, about my eye, it's not bad... (nobody can tell under my glasses), but it frickin' kills. ?The blizzard and beers have helped.?

  • Ballllsssss....

That sucks, and you can definitely have a pity party.

    **SUPER HUGS FOR DOLLYKINS**

  • Hey Dolly!

I'm sorry to hear that your are going through such a rough time righ tnow.  Hopefuly next month things will turn around for the better.

As for your useless Dr, can just ask her for a referral to a fertility clinic? Usually if you've been actively TTC for more than 12 months, most Dr's won't hesitate to send you to a specialist.

  • Sorry to hear that things are so crappy right now. I really hope that you're able to find someone who can help with your TTC issues.

    big hugs Left Hug

  • Hey Lady.  Sorry to hear you were having such a rough night.  Hope things are feeling a bit better this morning.

As for the TTC, at 12 months your Dr should be referring you to a specialist.  Don't wait for her to suggest it; make and appointment and request a referral.  You don't want any family doctor (no matter how awesome) dealing with fertility.  They simply don't have the knowledge or the resources to do proper monitoring and testing.  And if possible, ask for a clinic not an OB/GYN.  Even if you have to drive a bit to a clinic, it's probably worth it.  Most clinics have their own ultra sound, and labs that do both blood work and semen analysis.  All of that is incredibly important to the process.

I know the 12 month point is really discouraging.  You know where to find me if you have questions or just want to vent.  Big hugs to you.

  • Wow, that's really rough..I'm sorry it's all happening at once. HUGS to you!
  • Hang in there girl, things will turn around :)
  • sorry to hear that it was a crapper of a night. hope the beer helped. sending hugs your way, and hopefully you are able to go to a clinic asap to know your options in terms of your fertility.

good to hear that the black eye isn't so bad anymore. and as for work... I also remember how much you love the job - sucks that its not the best for you in the long term.

  • If you're willing to go outside of Guelph, try the Elmira Medical group.  I think they're taking on new patients (not sure though).  Guelph is pretty close to Elmira so it might be worth the trek over there.

    Good luck!
