Hi there! It's been forever since I posted, but I can't think of a better group to ask... our first anniversary is coming up next month, and I'd like to do/get something fun. What did/are you doing for your first anniversary? Any great present ideas?
Re: First Anniversary
Traditional first anniversary gift is supposed to be paper. What about getting tickets for his favorite sports team?
Our first is in a few weeks. We are in the process of buying a house so money is tight right now. DH says the deed is our present to each other, which im fine with. I think for the day we are going to pack a nice picnic lunch and go to the Leaming Run Gardens or to the beach for the day. We've been so busy latley we just want to spend some down time together
Ours is next month, and we don't have anything major planned. I'm hoping that we can spend the weekend together (DH normally works weekends), go out to dinner, eat year-old cake (and probably have a dessert back-up just in case). We're going to Ireland in March so that's really our anniv. gift to each other.
I'm coming up on #2 soon and I don't think I'll be able to top my First Anniversary.
My DH and I purchased our first house together a couple months before the wedding. While I was busy planning the wedding he was painting, gardening and making our house beautiful. When it came time to celebrate the first year together all I could think about was everything he did to our house and trying to fit within the paper idea.
I had a painter comissioned to do a water color of our first house together. I figured it would always be special and something he's put so much love and work into. It was pretty cheap actually, I think around 150? Let me know if you want the info.
I'm thinking about getting him Redskins tickets. He always talks about how he prefers to watch the games in the comfort of his own house, but it's something he'd like to experience at least once. They play the Broncos the day after our anniversary, but a couple weeks before they play the Eagles and he would LOVE that game.
Could you email this info to me? I would love to do this for my Gram. Thanks. kristylovesbriley at gmail.com
Hmmm...I am totally on the fence about what I want to do for our first anniversary. We were going to go to Boston and see a Pats game. The tickets would have been the gift. At the same time I have been thinking about buying plane tickets instead and going somewhere warm and sunny in November and chilling on the beach and reading. We shall see.....those are my thoughts though since they both involve paper.
I took all of the little paper things (napkins, postcards, ticket stubs, receipts, etc) from our trip to Spain and made a collage in a big picture frame. I think it looks nice and H really liked it.
We also went to Vegas for a few days
Such fun ideas! Thanks everyone! M&S07, I would love to get this info if you could email me: kgordon at acponline dot org
We bought our wedding album, so that was our major gift to each other. Plus, we went away to Annapolis for a couple days.
On our actual anniversary, we went to dinner at Pine Hill (they gave us a free dinner since we had our wedding there) and watched our wedding video. I was 9 months pregnant at the time, so I wasn't going far!
