This is random, I know... But I came across an old TTTC post re: Mayan abdominal massage from a couple of months ago. I was googling MAM to put together a lot of info for a friend.
I was seen my a MAM practicioner for the entire first 1/2 of the year. How long have you been going? Isn't it amazing to learn that much about your body? I did NOT like self care in the begining, but after a while it was so cool to be able to feel where everything was. Actually truth be told I didn't like my first few appointments - OWWW. I woke up the day after my first one and told MH that it felt like I had been punched in the stomach.
I was shocked at how much difference it made though. My uterus actually shifted and (sorry if this is TMI) I had a noticable change in my flow and never felt better right after my period ended. My ND/acupuncturist told me she could see rapid improvements in my "kidney yin" or whatever.
Anyways, just wanted to share.
Re: **Kalani**
Hey! I've been going for a couple of months now and I absolutely feel so much better. Symptoms that I've had for years are now gone which is a major blessing and answer to prayer for me/us. Due to the challenging health issues that I have had, I've just shared it w/ some people that I know IRL, the ladies on the other board, and via some PMs.
It's great to know that you have gotten some great benefits as well (especially the one that is 15 weeks along) and that your life is so much better as a result.
Good to know you are seeing positive results. Sorry if I should have mentioned this via PM.
I was just so excited to see someone else that I *knew* that was trying it out. I attempted to talk about it to some IRL friends and they were not at all supportive so I kind of clammed up about the subject.
Glad you are feeling better
No, it's okay. It's really that I am just starting to "come out" per se, to those who outside my safety net of those boards and IRL. It's a tough thing to deal with (as you may know). Some days are better than others.
I first heard of the massage technique about 3 years ago, but there were no practitioners in HI. I was on the boards one night earlier this year and someone mentioned it and I decided to look again. I was shocked that there were now practiioners on Oahu as well as a few of the outer islands. It has absolutely changed my life and I am so grateful.
