BR: lighter topic - the nursery - PIPs
we put together the crib (crib+mattress were gifts from ILs).
I know it's kind of early, but they ordered it, it arrived, the room was empty, and I like tools... haha.

The vintage/antique dresser I refurbished:

Very cute! I love the crib! I wish I could find one like that in black. And the paint looks awesome - almost like Tiffany blue!
How hard was it to refurbish the dresser? Did you paint it? I want to repaint my dresser and nightstand to use for the nursery and buy ourselves new furniture, but DH thinks it's going to be hard and a lot of work. I'd love to hear how you did it and if it's worth it.
LOVE your furniture! I have the same color walls in my guest bedroom (future baby's room) and I'm digging the white furniture.?
?Can't wait to see the rest come together.??

I have repainted or restained lots of furniture before. I don't think it's that difficult - but it is kind of a lot of work. If the item has a clear coat on it or isn't solid wood it's really important to kind of sand it a little to rough it up and then prime it (I use oil base).
Actually, I prime everything (even if solid wood) anyways. I like to use a roller for all coats (primer and paint) but not everything can be done that way if it's a small space. A brush works but I hate brush strokes so I have to lightly sand in between paint coats.
For this one - it was in pretty bad shape visually (structurally it was awesome) but it had some dings, and lots of scratches so I had to sand A LOT. I got a family member to prime b/c I didn't want to to be around the fumes. Then I painted it with white latex paint with low VOC (still wore a vented mask though).
The color by the nobs is part of the original hardware!!! It's why I bought the thing in the first place (even though it was in pretty bad shape). I will try to take a closer picture, but basically it's a brass outline diamond shape and then it has plastic inserts that get held in once you screw the knob and diamond back on. I just had to scrub them up a little bit.
