So last night we went out to dinner with some friends. When we got home we found a note on our door from our neighbor saying that our AC unit was really loud (nice note, just an fyi, not complaining). So we turned it on and sure enough, it sounds like we have a generator on the side of the house.
2 quotes later and we are spending $5k on a new unit. I'm going to be sick. This along with the new roof and fence due to storms has made for one very expensive year. Sometimes owning a home sucks.

Any chance the roof is covered by insurance? And if so, any chance the ac unit could be covered too?
Sorry to hear about all the repairs. I feel your pain. We got our foundation fixed this year, which turned out to be cheaper than fixing all the sewer leaks (which some probably existed before the foundation work).
