so, if you bake chicken that has the skin still on it, what do you season with?
i usually bake the boneless skinless thighs but am gonna try the wings too since Jonathan likes to eat chicken that still has the bone.
suggestions?
Re: baked chicken
I've seen them do the under the skin with turkey as well (like for Thanksgiving). Herbs de Provence is expensive, but a poultry seasoning would work.
On that note, I looked for Herbs de Provence EVERYWHERE in stupid Alexandria the other day and couldn't find any
Next time you're in BR, go to Fresh Market's herb section it's across from the cheeses. They have all sorts of spices in plastic packets for $2-$3 for EVERYTHING!!
Holy moly! Definitely gonna check that out! I looked up all the ingredients and I was just going to make my own blend, but the savory was like $12 just for that!
First, I love Herbs de Provence.
Second, I don't eat chicken, but my MIL takes some chicken broth and fills up the baking dish about 1/2 with the broth. Then she seasons it with oregano, basil, garlic, and them chops some aromatics (like carrots, onions, celery) and puts it in the broth. She slow bakes it and bastes every 15 minutes or so.
Everyone devours it, so it must be good.
Cute container, I've never paid $18 for herbs de provence.
I usually buy Spice Island Herbs de Provence. I've never spent more than $5 for a normal spice jar container.
Best spice place ever (and most of the time, cheaper than in store)
Penzey's
And their HDP is $4.29/oz.
