I have never cried as much at a movie...

...as I did last night watching the Time Traveler's Wife.

Holy tearjerker! Really good movie, I quite liked it (I read the book a few years ago, so maybe didn't remember it as well as others who've read it more recently) It wasn't as good as the book, but didn't ruin it like I worried it might.

Anyway, I was seriously crying through at least half the movie. I loved the movie though and now want to name my baby Henry or Clare (both of which DH vetoed, and I will likely get over in a day anyway)

 Anyone else see it?

Re: I have never cried as much at a movie...

  • I saw it a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. They did a pretty good job with it seeing as the book has so much detail in it. Obviously there are some parts in the book not in the movie, but they couldn't possibly fit it all in.
  • I can't decide if I want to watch it or not.... I just finished the book a week ago and loved it and cried enough through that!

Henry has always been a fav boy name, but it was vetoed a long time ago!

  • I saw it a couple weeks ago as well. I haven't read the book in about 5 years, so I think that helped me enjoy it as much as I did, since I had a hard time remembering specifics.

I usually cry at movies, but didn't at this one. There were a few times where I got a little misty, but that was about it.

  • I definitely think the fact that I read the book so long ago was why I enjoyed it so much. I've talked to other friends who've read it a lot more recently and they were really focused on the differences between the book and the movie.

For me, I couldn't remember a lot of the little details they ignored (IMO they got all the big stuff), so it worked out.
