Okay moms..recommend your diaper bag!
And tell me how much stuff I really need to carry on an everyday basis.
Keep in mind that we're not using daycare so I don't need to tote a ton of stuff there every day. Just looking for what I'll really need when I'm out and about running errands, etc.
Re: Okay moms..recommend your diaper bag!
This is mine, but in pink and brown: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2904252
I didn't actually choose it, but one of my students gave it to me, and I ended up liking it. Of course, I have not tested it yet since lil G hasn't been born yet, but it seems like it can carry a lot.
Oh, and DH odered this for himself: http://www.babysherpa.com/camobabysherpadiaperbackpack.html
He didn't think it was a good idea to carry my pink and brown diaper bag, so he ordered a "manly" looking one.
I loooooove my diaper bag! It's plenty big enpugh for everything and is cute on top of it. I've gotten lots of compliments. It's by Cater's and I got it from BRU.

I actually have it pretty full - 5-6 diapers, pack of wipes, 2 changes of clothes, a hat for L, a couple small toys, Desitin, gas drops, tylenol, and a pacifier.
I also have this for just running in a store without taking the whole darn bag. It is wonderful and I totally recommend something like it. It holds a couple diapers, some wipes, and an extra onesie and fits in my purse.
This is the one we have and I love it!

The best part is it has these straps that come out of each side with snaps that you hook on your stroller, so it hangs off the stroller handles at the perfect length where you can reach everything you need right there. Skip Hop makes one like it but was a lot more expensive. I like that it has an insulated pocket on the side that fits bottles, sippy cups or a thermos.
We also have a backpack one that we use only when we travel that we got at BRU, too but I couldn't find it. I think it's also by Columbia.
We don't really carry that much stuff in Sarah's diaper bag anymore...it will depend on where we're going and how long we'll be gone. We pretty much always have diapers, Clean and Go Wipes, disposable placemats (the ones that stick to the restaurant table), disposable bibs, dirty diaper disposal bags, sunscreen, a hat and a clean sippy cup. I guess that is a lot of stuff... :-)
Becki-my friend has yours also and really likes it.
This is mine. The strap isn't leather. It's actually like a seatbelt. But I LOVE it. It has a insulated bottle pocket on the side that I swear I can't live without. It's big too. Currently, I carry 4-5 diapers, wipes, anti bacterial, a&d ointment, scented bags (to put dirty diapers in) a change of clothes and a toy. But it holds more for big trips.(going to my MIL's today so I also have 2 bottles, 2 jars of food, her sippy cup, and snacks. I use it for my purse as well so I also have my wallet and checkbook in there. One of the side pockets is for Mom-so I keep gum, cell phone and chapstick. I seriously love it!!
ETA: I also love how long the strap is because when I am shopping I can fit it across the shopping cart handle. And when we were traveling I was able to put it across my chest. I love that I don't have to carry it like a purse everytime.
I obviously haven't used it yet, but we got the Skip Hop Duo (Double for us, though). They get really good reviews and I know a couple people IRL that have it and love it.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I have 2 friends with this one and they LOVE it! Keep your receipt though...after a year, BOTH had their handles tear off. They called Skip Hop to complain and they each received a new one (had to show proof of purchase, though).
hehe! we've got several.
My favorite one though is this no name one we got at Baby Depot. It's a messenger style one - it is so roomy and it doesn't look at all like a diaper bag.
The other one we use alot is a LeSportSac backpack. ?We've had water spilled in it several times & the clean up was pretty easy.
