We had a great time. The city is really clean and charming. I loved that everything was in French. It made me feel like we were in a small city in France. We spent the first day wondering around old city, which is beautiful with the cobblestone streets and little boutiques. We went to the archeology museum and to the Notre-Dame de Montr?al which was just beautiful inside. We had a great vegetation Thai dinner at Chu Chai. On Sunday we took the subway to the Plateu Mont-Royal section and wandered around the street fair. But my favorite part was going to the Jean-Talon market yesterday morning. It was absolutely fabulous. There were rows and rows of vendors with the most beautiful fresh fruits, vegetables, breads and cheeses. We we salavateing.
The drive there and back was very long. We got a speeding ticket on the way down and got stuck in a ton of traffic on the way home, but it was worth it. I would totally recommend taking a trip to Montr?al if you have the chance. I know we?ll be back!

welcome back! it sounds like you had a great time!
I have to ask, how'd you like the poutine? I'm not sure I could have eaten it.
You had me at "fresh fruits, vegetables, breads and cheeses."
Mmmm. I didn't realize that Montreal had scuh offerings. DH only went in his (relative) youth for the beer and, er, strip clubs.
Evidently, they offer free all-you-can-eat lunch buffets...
