  • you're soooo lucky!

you could make a seafood gumbo, click for recipe.

I don't have any crabcake recipes because it takes a lot of crab and I can never afford that much!  But google it, I'm sure you can find one that suits your tastes.

You could also make crab au gratin or crab mornay.  Or omelets with crab inside.

  • by the way, that gumbo recipe would be great with some lump crabmeat, but again I always buy claw because it's cheaper!

  • Crabcakes are SUPER simple.

    1 egg
    1lb of crabmeat
    8-10 saltine crackers
5 tsp Old Bay Seasoning (we like ours spicy)
    1 tsp mayo

I wait to add most of the old bay till last so it's a season to taste kind of thing. I do add 3 tsp to the initial mix, but I make two REALLY small ones that I use to see if the oil is the right temp and the seasoning is right.

So I make the cakes and put in the fridge will I heat up the oil in the pan. When I think it's right I add on of the really small cakes as a tester. Cook it and see if anything needs more seasoning, if it does you can sprinkle a little more on top of an already prepared cake. ENJOY! Before we lived in LA we used to make crab cakes all the time.

  • Oh yum, crab cakes.  I have a recipe for a crab dip.  It's not something you'd make just for yourself (although you could b/c it's super yum) but when I have a pack of crab on hand I usually make it for parties.  If you want it, I can dig up the recipe this afternoon.

  • I loooove crab cakes! You should definately make those. I also used to have an awesome recipe for crab meat enchiladas with cheese sauce. I'll have to see if I can find it when I get home.
