So far today 3 different co-workers have come into my ?space? and they are sick! All with colds and go on and on about how sick they are blah blah blah?.Ummm HELLO people, pregnant lady here, I?d rather not get sick!
After one of them came to see for the 4th time and was sneezing and leaning over me to get to my tissue box - I had to interrupt him ??I?m sorry but could you please leave and send me an email or call me from your desk, I don?t want to get sick?.
The sucky part is that [I?m hoping it?s all in my head] but I?m feeling sicky?heavy head, I?ve sneezed like 8 times and I?m not hungry...DAMN these people!
I wonder if I should make a sign saying "if you're sick, finishing up being sick or think you might be getting sick - Go Away!"
I?m off to go get some O.J. ASAP?. ![]()
Re: Office ?Sick? Etiquette?!
When I was pregnant with DS this one guy came into work with a really bad cold and I went to my boss and said that if he didn't go home sick then I was leaving and would try to work from home.
My boss tried to convince him to go home but when he wouldn't, I left.
I just might have to do that with the coming months...You would think common sense kicks in but Nope! Man I think my bottle of hand sanitizer is almost done and it's only 2:30pm...
Unfortunatly, common sense is not all that common anymore.
People seem to think that they are indispensible at work and don't realise that by staying home for one or two days they could save the company a lot of $ because otherwise the other 4 people who get sick may have to take longer, infect others, etc......
Teach your children to wash hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, and model the correct behavior. Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers if soap and water are not available.
Teach your children to cover coughs and sneezes with tissues, and be sure to model that behavior.
Remind your family to stay away from others as much as possible if they are sick. Stay home from work and school if sick.
This is the one I was looking for.
