Nat - how's the grocery budget?
Hey you! I took a gander at your menu for this week and I was wondering how you've managed cutting down on the grocery spending. I am now without a deep freeze (we left it at the condo) so I can't take advantage of sales anymore...bummer.
Re: Nat - how's the grocery budget?
SO much better! I rarely hit the grocery store - only for things I can't get at the market. I spend 40-60 bucks at the market once a week, getting all my produce, meats, breads and eggs and then I just hit the grocery store once every couple of weeks for household items, etc.
Major difference! Booo to not having a deep freeze - maybe you can get a cheap one from Costco?
DH and I were talking about cutting grocery expenses this past weekend.
I was thinking - I think we?ll be OK if I have eggs, some fresh veggies (peppers, carrots, mushrooms) canned tuna, pasta, bread, cold cuts, mayo, potatoes, butter, frozen veggies and Meat like pork chops & chicken?sometimes beef and soup in the house. Lately I?ve wanted just soup & sandwich for dinner, so some of the other ?normals? go to waste or end up getting freezer burn!
What are some of your tips or ideas on how to save? We feel we?re just wasting too much food and money!
Mel - we got ours at the Brick a few years ago - similar to this one. It was Around $250 I think and is the perfect size for us.

Thanks Jen,
I guess I need to be more on top of it. I always forget to defrost meat (like today) so I feel stuck! Well if that's what cuts costs - let the planning begin! lol
