Bed rest again :(

I did my time last week and thought things were okay.  We headed to my parents on friday and I really did take it easy other than the travel.  I guess that wasn't enough as I ended up in the hospital again Friday night.

I'm okay, baby is okay and once again they aren't sure what's going on.

So I'm on bedrest for another week and waiting to see my OB tomorrow.  The doctor I saw on Friday told me that if I was his patient, I'd be on bedrest for the duration of the pregnancy :(

I don't know what to think.  I am SO sick of bedrest already, but also so terrified of not being on it. This stinks.

And I also have my 3D ultrasound on Thursday and I'm afraid I'll have to cancel it.  I'm pretty sure my OB will want to send me for an ultrasound though.

On a positive note, I'm FINALLY feeling this little stinker kick.  It's awesome!

Re: Bed rest again :(

  • I'm sorry you're on bed rest again Amy.  When will you get to see your own doctor to talk about things?

Do you have lots of books and movies on hand to keep you from going too crazy?  Will you be able to do any work from home?

I see my doctor tomorrow.  I'm working from home, but still bored.  I'm waiting for a designer to get some stuff back to me and then at least I should have something more to do.

  • good luck getting through it!
  • I'm sorry too that you are on bedrest.  I definitely know how that feels since I was on bedrest for 6 weeks with my back.  Try to take this time to watch movies or tv shows you've wanted to watch or rewatch and read books.  The more entertained you are, the faster the time will go by.

Hopefully they figure out soon what's going on.  Just hang in there...it'll be over before you know it!  HUGS!

  • Aw man!  That seriously sucks!  I really hope that your doctor can get a better idea of what's going on at your appointment.  Bedrest would blow but your health is most important.  I'd recommend checking the Bedrest Mamas group on the high-risk pregnancy board if you haven't already.  They seem to have a daily posting for all the moms-to-be on bedrest and some really great ideas for passing the time without going crazy.  Fingers crossed for good news for you and the little one!
  • Oh no.  :(   This sucks.  Hang in there...  Hoping for good news.  If it does come to bed rest, may you be able to endure it.

  • Oh No!

I'm glad to hear that you and baby are well but man that sucks! I'd be bored crazy too...There is only so much on-line & daytime t.v. a person can handle! lol Are there any crafts you can [want to] do from the bed/couch? Painting, knitting, scrapbooking?

On a good note YAY for feeling those little kicks...it's cool but weird, right? lol

  • I'm sorry.  If it helps any, I've had friends put on bedrest around the same time as you and although long, it was worth it and everything turned out fine.

  • Oh no Amy! That would have been really scary. Hopefully you don't end up on bedrest, but like the other ladies have said, if it happens it happens.

One positive thing that I learned this weekend is that 23 weeks is aspparantly entering the "safe" zone for pregnancy. i.e. if your baby is born now they can survive. Obviously you want them in there as long as possible, but it was comforting to hear that if for some reason it happend to be super early I was reaching the point where baby could survive.

Hopefully your doc gives you some more answers soon. Until then, I stay off your feet and rest up friend!

  • I hope you are both ok. Bed rest doesn't sound appealing, but doctors know best, I suppose. Yay for kicking!
  • I am so glad you can feel the kicks?  Isn't it amazing?  Bed rest can't be fun at all but hang in there.  Keep us posted Smile
  • Boo to bedrest, but yay for kicks!

Do you have lots of puzzles, movies, books, etc to keep you occupied? I was home from work for 3 months when I had G-B so I definitely feel your pain (though I wasn't on bedrest, I couldn't move, so technically it's like bedrest!) LOL

  • Ugh. How scary and frustrating for you. I'm sure bedrest sucks but it's definitely better to take a conservative approach when it comes to your pregnancy. It would be nice if you could get some explanation of what's going on, though!

I'm so happy you're feeling some definite kicks ? baby must know you need the reassurance right now. :)

  • Sorry about having to be on bed rest but it will all work out in the end!  You are more than halfway there now!!!! :)  Might I suggest watching the price is right from 11-12?

  • Sorry to hear that, Amy. I hope the time passes quickly.
  • Sorry to hear that you're on bedrest Amy. I can't imagine how frustrating it would be, but hang in there! Like someone else mentioned, you're more than halfway there!
