Good Morning (wed)

Must. Stay. Awake.  I am so tired today. I don't even know why. How long is Nyquill supposed to last anyway?

Yesterday H and I ran a bunch of errands. Including car seat shopping. Yeah...we didn't buy anything. It's a lot harder than I thought it was going to be.

How was your day yesterday?

Re: Good Morning (wed)

  • Good Morning.

I woke up so tired this morning and with a sore throat.  I haven't slept well the past two nights.  I just can't get comfortable.

Last night DH and I picked up subway for dinner, then watched Sunday's Mad Men and went to bed.

Tonight we have the kids for dinner and I need to make a trip to Michael's for some fondant.  I'm making a Bingo cake for Saturday.

  • Morning. I know what you mean. I just kept waking up last night thinking I was late. I woke up so tired, I made sure I was out the door in time to make a starbucks run.

yesterday I took the kids for a quick staters trip, that just hanging out at home and TJ's orange chicken for dinner.

Today more of the same, hopefully get some laundry done and maybe let Isabel do some more experiments. She loved the ice one yesterday.

  • I am so freaking beat. Poor L is sick. He woke up a couple times last night with a stuffy/runny nose and fever and we had a heck of a time getting him back to sleep.I think he may be close to getting a tooth on top of it. Hopefully he'll be feeling better today.
  • Awww...poor Luke! I can so relate Becki. It's tough.

What did you do for him? Tylenol?

    Oh, and which tooth? :)

  • Fthtrstnpxiedst (sorry, I don't know your first name): I've had a sore throat the past few nights too. I think it's related to allergies. :p

Becki: Hugs to you. C is the moco king right now. It's nasty. Especially when he feels the need to rub it all over his face. *monotone* teething is fuunn.

Our day yesterday was awesome. The train park was a hit by all. Even though I didn't get pics P & I had a race down the slides. C was cracking up. By the time we got home, C went to bed at 7:30 & we had to wake him up a little before 7 this morning.

I suctioned his nose out (FUN!!) and gave him Tylenol. He feels pretty warm but his underarm temp is 98.8, so not too high. It's one of the front bottom teeth.

  • Man lots of sleepy nesties today and I'm one of them! Damn knee was giving me problems and I couldnt get comfortable.

Becki - Hope L feels better!

Brandy - Glad you guys had fun!

Last night was nothing exciting, tried a new dinner recipe that was meh, watched some Ace of Cakes while H did his fantasy football draft. Today busy day of meetings and leaving early for my PT appt. I was tempted to stop by the new TJs by our house after my appt but it opened yesterday and I have a feeling it will be a mad house...I might wait...

Poor little guy. Mary screams bloody murder when I suction her nose now. She used to let me.

Glad his fever isn't high. Good news. But yay for chompers!!

I've been told Motrin is better at bringing down temps. Tylenol is primarily used for inflammation.

  • Brandy-I bought motrin because of what you told me and it did work. But I don't think it worked better or different than Tylenol. Because Tylenol brought down her temp too. Hmmm...I wonder....
  • J hates being suction too, I found that if I just squirt some BM up his nose, all the mocos come out on their own within 10-15min.

    No more bm for/from me.

  • Motrin is my favorite thing in the world. I had knee surgery in HS and vicodin did nothing for me, but motrin was wonderful. I'll have to pick some up.

Speaking of fever/temps: how do you moms take temps? I do underarm and sometimes use the forehead one for a rough estimate. The nurses in the NICU told me underarm is fine, but I keep reading about how rectal is most accurate. I'm not brave enough for rectal...

  • we have the electronic one for the ear. And it's always been pretty accurate.

Kristy-I definitely understand the happy dance.

I use underarm too. (it's actually the thermometor I used to use when I was charting...aww....) But it is accurate. When she had her fever it read 100 degrees. And it was the same when they took her temp in the ear at the doc.

The hard part is for her to stay still while I sick that in her arm. I couldn't imagine doing butt. H-e-l-l no!

  • Good morning. I have nothing exciting going on. Last night we just hung out. I have had no motivation to do anything lately. I hope this passes soon. Things needs to get done.
  • Morning, everyone!

Not much going on around here.  Just work and hanging out with the fam. Tonight Sarah and I are going to do some Jr League work which hopefully won't take too long...

Sarah's pedi recommended Motrin for her for fevers and it works way better than Tylenol (for her anyway).  Neither really helped with teething, though...the only thing that does work for teething is the Hylands Teething Tablets.  I asked her dr and he concurred...said they work so well because they dissolve in the mouth right into the spot where the tooth is coming in giving almost instant relief.  She gets 3 at a time (she LOVES them and signs for "more" when she's done with the 3!) just twice a day and it seems to do the trick.  She's up to 16 teeth (all that's left are the 4 way-back molars) but those eye-teeth are still moving up and causing her (and us) issues...

    Hehe...I'm Brandi.

I think it may just be allergies because it's fine now.  Or maybe it's the change it the temperature.

rectal. when he has a temp, I want an accurate reading. plus it's really not that bad. the themomitor reads within secs. target sells covers for the themomitor. you use them once & toss them. it's like a condom for the themomoitor. hahaha

  • I picked up my puppies from my parents' house last night (they puppy-sat while we were traveling)- I can't believe they GREW in 4 days!!! Went to TJs last night and got some groceries (I have to try the Orange chicken Kat- I got the teriyaki chicken to try last night)

Then went home and took my "Before" pictures for my Body for Life Challenge (http://www.bodyforlife.com) - I HATED seeing those pictures- but they are going to be used to motivate me to keep working on getting un-fat! 12 weeks to get skinny- can it be done?! :) H has lost 50lbs using BFL, so I figure I better give it a shot!

Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time. Midnight Baking Adventures Blog
  • ^ WOW!! Go your H! That's awesome. I need to lose 10lbs desperately but have lost motivation. Maybe now that it's cooler I can get back into the swing of things.
